Re: Uncharted heights I Agree, VMB, if you can find a company that grows sales, profits and dividend year on year on year on year, buy it when you can & stick with it. Long term the share price correlates with profits, and a rising dividend, in days of low inflation does not take many years to look significant on your original investment, even if the yield is low. I'm kicking myself for selling Dignity when (like you) I thought it was getting too expensive.
Re: Uncharted heights It's a great business that should be in most portfolios. I've been in since May '10 so a 3bagger heading towards 4. The learn for me was selling a third last year when I thought they were too expensive . The truth is they will always be priced at a premium so long as the consistent growth and high returns remains. They may tread water for a time if interest rates rise but over time they should rise.

Its success is largely down to sensible diversification and an ability to move quickly as ..."[link]
Re: Uncharted heights Agreed Hardboy, excellent results and progressivly rising dividends. I have been topping up since first purchasing in Sep 2014 since purchased 3 more times last on 3 Nov. Very pleasing to see over 6% rise today.
Re: Uncharted heights Good results & optimistic view of the future. This just keeps on delivering.
Re: Uncharted heights Lambretta,"SELL target £3.."Would you care to revisit your unsubstantiated prediction in the light of today's results?I'll eat my hat if we ever get a <BANG-ON> from you as regards Halma!LKH on the flybridge
Re: Uncharted heights Based on no reply to substantiate her sell rec and this mornings strong results with yet another increase I the divi I think LG is confusing Halma with Hornby! Strong buy and £10 target in 18 months.
Re: Uncharted heights Why? Please explain...or is this another of your 'pie in the sky' prophecies that might or might not come good?
Re: Uncharted heights SELL target £3..
Uncharted heights Halma steadily rises up towards the £8 barrier, now at an all-time new high price. Quality company, quality share, quality management, dividend always increasing - there's just nothing not to like about Halma. Just surprised there aren't more investors discovering this gem.Time to fill my boots with more, as I believe once the £8 ceiling is breached (as it surely must be in the next few days), the next stop will be about £10.
Re: No Regrets Shares And on top of all that....don't forget the divi!!
No Regrets Shares Halma is just one of those shares one buys and holds forever. I bought many years ago and it has simply climbed, year in, year out while gaining little attention.Management team know what they're doing, have a great track record of identifying acquisitions, striking the right terms and then successfully integrating and providing diversity so that even with the huge drop in oil and gas development and production, the shares have held up well.
36th year of divi increase One item in particular. Each of the 4 sections of Halma has the potentialto be as big as the whole of Halma is today!!! Still a lot of potential here.
Re: Top up perhaps LKH,Decided to top again. Bought some on 30 Apr at 710. A few minutes ago a limit order at 772 met. I like rising SP long may it keep going.Must sell my TATE now before market closed.
Re: Top up perhaps Rhigos,"Not cheap with a PE of 25.7"I've recently reduced my weighting in Halma, mainly because I chust needed a bit of cash for summat or other, but I also felt that it had got a bit pricey relative to my techie fave, RSW, which is selling on less demanding multiples. If I were gonnae big up on one or t'other it would be RSW, or possibly Spectris, which I don't hold at the mo.LKH on the flybridge
