Re: Berenberg initiates coverage today I think that it has now reached a size where it is going to get noticed a bit more by analysts and investors, especially as there are 20 odd years of increasing dividends.p-

Berenberg initiates coverage today With a 'buy' recommendation and 1510p target

Tipped on fool.co.uk HILS was tipped as a strong long-term buy on fool.co.uk on Wednesday, citing progressive dividend increases and describing the company as "Bring but very profitable". Severfield was also mentioned, but as an investor who has held both for 20 years, Hill and Smith has given a much better ride, with an increased divi year on year and no real dips. Severfield's ride has been quite bumpy....p-

Re: Finals - 'record results' again Hi investors! This is 15 yrs of earnings and dividend growth.Still can't understand the lack of interest in this company, which has now delivered 15 years of consecutive dividend growth!

Re: Finals - 'record results' again Yes, one of my 'hold till I die' shares!Keep reinvesting the DIV, get more DIV's....love it.One of the unsung shares in my opinion.

Finals - 'record results' again Another solid year with dividend up 14% and the 15th year of divi growth.Too many results to keep up with at this time of year!I think the UK road infrastructure upgrades are still sluggish but will hopefully speed up once the bad weather is over. The US activity appears reasonably buoyant and as the HILS companies produce stuff in the USA they should avoid any trade war fall-out.Also for 2017, revenue and profits at first glance are cited as roughly equal in actual and 'constant currency' terms. But £/$ exchange will have an impact if any major swings.Im continuing to hold as usual.SG

STILL good I checked back to my first post about HILS in 2005 and this share is STILL good. Income and dividends have risen every year since.....

good for long-term having bought in at 80p and again at 93p, these shares have proved to be good for the long-term. my enthusiasm and posts have never generated much interest, but i have pocketed some great dividends.....

Re: Half year results 60p down at the moment. The FTSE 100 is down 1.2% so far today so that will account for maybe 20p and the other 40p drop is just the froth added in the week before the results.Nothing to worry about. HILS is good.

Half year results A bit disappointed with the reaction to these results. Everything continues to go in the right direction with a 10%+ hike in the dividend. Maybe the market expects too much.Still a strong hold.Mm.

Re: Down on good news? Downgraded yesterday by N+1 Singer from 'buy' to 'hold'Downgraded today by Investec from 'buy' to 'add'

Re: Down on good news? Perhaps mild disappointment that results were not even better? Have just bought an initial holding today. Realise price still quite high, but intention is to hold for long term. This approach has worked well with my other growth holdings, like Halma for instance.

Down on good news? Decent update, but significant drop. Am I missing something?

NEW ARTICLE: Hill & Smith conservatively valued despite best year "Record results kept the LSE:HILS:Hill & Smith fan club happy Wednesday. They've triggered another round of upgrades at the maker of road safety barriers, street lights and pipe supports, and many in the City believe even these estimates may turn ..."[link]

onwards and upwards Strong performance here with progressive growth, rising revenues and decent future picture overall.Divi is up by 28% with respectable cover. There have been some acquisitions and some restructuring, so will need to look in detail at the 'non-underlying' numbers.Pension deficit has risen in common with a lot of DB schemes due to falling discount rate.USA has been lagging but this may show improvement through the coming year, same with UK water infrastructure supplies. Results PDF can be downloaded from this site [link] who doesnt drive on the motorways and needs pictures can look here[link] luck all holders!SG
