Re: Possible buy? (now available at 453) I wonder if people are reading over from Carpetright & expecting that their dire problems(ie falling sales) are going to affect the smaller carpet retailers that Headlam supplies.Carpetright has other problems, like poor balance sheet, that does n't apply here.

Possible buy? (now available at 453) The company is a wholesaler of floor coverings. It buys from manufacturers, stores the product, then breaks it down and delivers it to retailers. The company is mainly in the UK market, but is also present in four European countries including Holland and Switzerland. The recent update suggested trade is slowing here, notably in the UK. The result has been a fall of c25% from recent highs. That peak was achieved off the back of broker recommendations and the payment of special dividends, and was probably unsustainable. However the figures remain decentER = 10PEG = 0.9Yield = c4.5%No debt.Revenue has risen over each of the last six years and there is a possibility that could be continued, driven by recent and impending acquisitions. Any other opinions please?

Re: Overdone I think there's a limit to how long you can put off replacing flooring, so for long term investors the overall market should be fairly low on the list of concerns. Unless there's a trend for flooring with a lower lifetime cost, which I have no info about.

Re: Overdone I think this is fairly negative, apart from finishing by saying "expectations for 2018 remain unchanged ":"Current Trading Against a very strong January 2017 comparator, the Company's overall like-for-like revenue* declined 5.9% in January 2018, with the UK showing a more pronounced reduction, 6.7%, predominantly due to the performance of the residential sector and the adverse impact of a reduction of orders from one of our larger customers. In contrast, Continental Europe delivered a strongly positive result for the residential sector in the month, 6.5% on a like-for-like revenue* basis. The negative UK performance in the month was largely attributable to a very soft first working week following the New Year holiday, with the rest of the month showing some recovery but remaining moderately below our expectations. The like-for-like revenue* performance in February 2018 was similar to January 2018, with a continued reduction of orders from the larger customer mentioned above and generally softer markets. However, given the very early stage in the year and our greater focus on profit rather than top-line growth, with organic revenue growth being a lesser contributor to the Company achieving its overall plans and expectations, our expectations for 2018 remain unchanged at this stage despite the weaker markets."

Overdone Good results. Good future outlook. Solid management. What have I missed? Why has this share lost 10% in a day. Chance to put my money where my mouth in and buy some more I think.

Re: Good results Very solid indeed. Not sure why brokers are looking for same again EPS on the full year, H1 is the best part of £3 million ahead on previous tax.

Good results Good results today, I thought. Decent increase in divi, excellent balance sheet, not too many worries about Brexit. A strong Hold for me......

Greyinvestor 22 Jun 2016

Top Ups Made some reasonable sized top ups at around £4.65, so now have a decent stake here......

Greyinvestor 10 May 2016

First purchase Made a first purchase of these at £4.83, easing down into good value, I think......

Re: NEW ARTICLE: Headlam Headlam is not tied to new build UK housing in the same way as many othersector companies are.The big majority of of those using Headlam product range will be redecorating andmore likely on a room by room basis. This may be why Headlam's model was so resilient during that last recession.Even in the midst of the financial meltdown when people were queuing to withdrawmoney from banks, Headlam still made approx £22 Million on annual pre tax. This robustness is not fully appreciated by markets - all IMV only, please DYOR as always. The Special dividend of 6 pence a share is paid in April.

EssentialInvestor 03 Mar 2016

Special Dividend + The Final = 20.7 pence The cash generation is a stand out.
