Re: RNS : Dividend increased 49% etc Joatmon,Thanks for that link. I've held GVC since 2006 and have built up a sizeable holding which has been all but completely funded by the dividend. However, if GVC go down the road of high street bookies I'll sell the lot. Whenever I look inside a betting shop it's nearly always empty. Buying Ladbrokes strikes me as about as appropriate as Amazon wanting to take over the Co-op. Can't imagine why the BOD would want to do that.BWDIK?47tc

Re: RNS : Dividend increased 49% etc Joatmon,Pls enlighten me re the t/o offer that broke down. I seem to have missed this. I did hear a rumour re Ladbrooks but in my opinion, high street bookies are very much yesterday and I would be amazed (and very concerned) should the BOD be looking to go down that road. Definitely not the way forward in my opinion.47TC

Re: RNS : Dividend increased 49% etc I imagine the dividend was increased because more funds were available after the t/o offer broke down.

RNS : Dividend increased 49% Todays RNS :- Strong trading continuing and now EBITDA expected to be at top of range .- Next dividend announced in early Nov 2016 to be increased by 49% to 12.5p ps.- BwinParty integration continues ahead of expectations .Whats not to like ?Should be a strong BLUE day today .

Re: share price falls Sounds logical...but the market often works on sentiment and associated macro bad news (ie ALL gambling), plus the share has done well so maybe some profit taking? For the moment, given the market trends, I guess a Strong Hold is best.

share price falls I'm struggling with this....can only think this current fall relates to the CySec paper that is causing IG and Plus500 to fall. Of course it has nothing to do with the business of GVC but seems to be a broad brush "risk off" anything gambling related. The US/UK competition stuff also appears to be a red herring. Most of their business is sports betting outside of these jurisdictions anyway.Anyway - management is great in my opinion and have done a really good job. Looking through numbers and expectations I can see upside. Feels to me like earnings should come in somewhere around the 55-60p level which means a divi of close to 5% at current levels. But then I take a simple look at the numbers and feel that €110m profit (2* 2016 half year profits) + €125m cost savings & €22m less capex should all be realised in 2017. So that should equate closer to 70-85p eps..........maybe I'm missing something.....????

Re: Why the decline is the SP? Apart from the Competition & markets Authority(CMA) announcement that it is going to investigate online gambling companies, a major factor is Trump being in power is not good news for the advancement of US Online Gambling. Trump was or still a big invester in brick and mortar buildings. Google it.

Why the decline is the SP? Does anyone have a valid reason for the recent share price decline?

Re: 3rd quarter trading update etc It is difficult to estimate what the 2017 dividend will be under the present circumstances. That said, the early dividend is a good sign, but the switch from quarterly dividends to an interim and final dividend payment scheme maybe good for GVC but in my view it is less attractive for investors who are retired. the way I used to have a Morgan plus 8 lightweight Mr MG TC.

Re: 3rd quarter trading update Agreed Joatman, the "special div" relates to 2016.I was merely commenting on the post from Dave 297 where he said that the special div would be paid in April. The Edison post on GVC's website says payment will be in February. We should get confirmation of the exchange rate some time late January and hopefully details of further div payments during 2017.SP uncomfortably volatile at the moment but lots of political events affecting the market overall (Brexit, US elections, possible US rate rise etc etc) and GVC not immune to general market traumas - all the more now it's a mainstream FT stock rather than being in the Aim backwater.I still think GVC's a good long term hold for both income and cap growth. But then again, WDIK?DYOR etc47TC

Re: 3rd quarter trading update Correct - but it also says for 2016.

Re: 3rd quarter trading update According to GVC website the special div will be paid in February 2017

Joatmon 04 Nov 2016

Re: divi 2017 another guess Actually I now see that the special dividend was for 2016 so I would guess a dividend of 40-50 cents for 2017 - but in reality these are only wild guesses.

Joatmon 03 Nov 2016

Re: divi 2017 another guess I would think since GVC has announced a special dividend the other dividend pay out for the year would at least equal the previous payout so I would say a floor of 10+50 = 60 is probable, and it could be more depending on the trading information.
