Re: Big Oil GPX will certainly not be one for the super majors for a good few years. This is why it is so important to make sure you get your investments in oil right. For past few years there is only one real contender on AIM for super major takeover demanding large assets and low cost of extraction. It is not in some war-torn region, it is in UK waters right next to BP infrastructure and you will be kicking yourself for not caring about it by the end of the year. The large seller of GPX (who I was happy to sell to) is now selling at 10p with the MM making a profit on top of that. Feel free to buy, but know that the large buyer has more stock and no instiutional buyer to offload too. Just PI's. Obviousely an oil fund could want this stock and a PI could make money but I see no evidence of this in the trades.
Big Oil The worlds super majors need to maintain production and growth levels and profit and dividends. The easy win win is picking up proven and producible assets with low market caps. There are not many left sitting around at this ones present lows. Just research on Block 26 and on Sinopec when you view.[link] see what happens on the the 20th Feb.Own due diligence
Re: Government agrees truce with rebels The standout quote for me was..."Quite new to the share buying/selling game." - Wideyed Poor chap. These forums should really work as a collaboration and often they do with FTSE100 companies. But on AIM I think many times they get used to sell stock that in the case of GPX was bought at bulk at 11 to 12p.
Re: Government agrees truce with rebels Got to love this!!!!! People can be so so stuuuu piiiid. As if GPX would rise side by side with the political improvement."Dont understand the recent drops in sp? If it was because of postponed peace talks it would have fallen earlier. Are mms collecting for end of feb rise?"crossroads2"The UK and EU seem to be getting off their high horses at last and sounding a bit more pragmatic. It all bodes well but of course there are no guarantees, you just wouldn't want to be left behind..."Beengenious"My hope is they see lifting sanctions as part of the peace process rather than an end result."Beengenious"Bloody UN. Get on with it - why the delay...!?"Beengenious"Successful!: The UK accepts that Bashar al-Assad should be allowed to run for re-election in the event of a peace settlement in Syria, Boris Johnson has said, in a dramatic reversal of the British policy stretching."Beengenious"Russian senator says Astana meeting on settling Syrian crisis proves successful..."goodshare[link]
Re: Seemingly a Success Hi JohandesilvaIts a interesting theory but its slightly flawed for if the seller was selling they would not be interested in any selling cap. You wouldn't, and neither would I as we would both be looking to maximise our returns. It won't make any difference though for if peace starts to take shape, with that will come optimism that sanctions will be lifted and I suspect a very big boom and rerate upwards. My view is that Block 26 and the NAV of Gulfsands is worth well in excess of the present market cap. (One of the type of shares I like). Sinopec, the Chinese National Oil Company, who are involved in Block 26 on a 50 / 50 basis I suspect know this also.Don't also under-estimate Russian involvement on the peace talks front over Syria for as a Non-Opec they played a big part in initiating, brokering and turning things around on the price of a barrel of oil pretty quickly. All the right ingredients are there. It just needs somebody to make the cake. On a last note I also think there will be plenty out there spying up grossly undervalued assets and stocks and the vast opportunities that will come with rebuilding the country.Own due diligence.
Re: Seemingly a Success The large seller had bought in and is selling to PI's like yourself in an controlled fashion but will never allow it to go too high or low allowing YOU to profit only a little if any. When done you will have stock around 11-13p. Well done. You will be the proud holders of 11-13p stock. You can print it out and put it on your wall to admire, perhaps in a frame next to the telly. Just ignore what happened to the share price between march and April when the seller was done then... cant happen again can it?Painful experience has allowed me to sell to these seller. One needs to get in earlier than this....but then again I could be telly porkies and wanting you to sell so I can have your shares cheap. Don't trust anyone especially the media.
Re: Seemingly a Success If your here for a quick day trade rromeo then good luck to you.The greater gains come in these stocks if you have the patience to buy in and hold - and to add on any weakness (10.25p looked cheap) They all move up and down and shares like Gulfsands make good gains on positive news.Centamin was a classic example from recent memory and one I did well out. A few years ago 25p amidst civil war and unrest in Egypt, whilst sat on a massive producing asset of a Gold deposit at Sukari. Now about £1.50.I'm not here to answer everyones queries. Just ask yourself this question: Are the prospects here better than they were 6,5,4,3,2,1 year ago? I think H#ll yeh. You decide for yourself and act accordinglyYou should also note that volume today on any fall was minimal (About £10k's worth of shares).Own due diligence

First signs of agreement then this should start to lift considerably. Own due diligence."[link] remember that GPX has little or nothing to do with the Assad terror regime. It is the newly created Kurdish region that will govern this company.

Talks There is definite interest in moving this forward. Astana - Monday 23rd Jan.Geneva - 8th Feb.Own due diligence.
Block 26 Any further moves towards peace in Syria or indeed a lifting of the Force Majeure and or sanctions should focus the minds back firmly onto Block 26 for exploration and production.[link] jewel in the crown and a patient game that's looking a whole lot better than it was about a fortnight ago.Own due diligence
Re: Can't sell I personally wouldn't be selling any shares but adding myself ExSol. But then that's just a matter of personal choice. There is massive potential here for significant returns on a short to mid time frame. The darkness at both ends of the GPX tunnel has been brightened up with two light switching on events. The first has been a sustained bounce in the oil price after two years of falls. That should assist in assisting with farm-outs as the bigger producers are flush with more cash to spend on exploration. Secondly a major floodlight event in Syria if you ask me with a ceasefire after years of fighting bombings and furthermore an accompanying detailed plan being coordinated and pulled together by Russia. You should also be aware that what stock is out there is tightly held and limited.[link] due diligence.
Can't sell Nice to see this moving up, but trying to sell any on H&L is a nightmare
Re: Next leg up - coming? I must admit I've been tracking movements on this share price post the ceasefire and was going to say the same GENG. Its looking very likely that there is a breakout forming with good upside potential. One recently acquired and added to my ISAOwn due diligence
