Re: Fair value 80p All in all, taking everything into account and, after checking the weather,I have decided NOT to hold my breath waiting for 80p.
Fair value 80p Simon Thompson in Investors Chronicle yesterday." So with GLI Finance's shares trading at net asset value, and offering a near 10 per cent dividend yield, I remain a buyer and maintain fair value at 80p."
DEFINITION OF HOT AIR AN INTERIM REPORT FROM GLIF.This is a distinctly lackluster set of results whereby the management have contrived an uplift in the value of the lending platforms, most of which are loss making, to mask a situation where loan income is failing to bring the company in to profit.Extremely disappointing, and combined with the lack of transparency on the geography and maturity profile of the loans, actually beginning to set off some alarm bells.
Re: Reasonable Interim report Well I'm less than enchanted by this report. Very weak on earnings, or hard data, other than NAV. But worryingly, we don't have the promise of jam tomorrow, merely the 'potential' of jam tomorrow.Clearly they are desperate to raise more finance, but seem very light on the value or profitability of their current lending. It's a 'cautious hold' IMHO.
Reasonable Interim report Yes,I know 'Da Management' always 'big-up' performance but that report indicated all was going as planned and, with patience,2016 should be a good one-not mega but nice and steady.Of course I would like to hear from the wise & knowledgeable out there for any differing views.
Interim Results Due out on Monday (28/09).It will be interesting to see if there is an prospect of all this distracting activity actually being converted into profits for GLIFI'm expecting lots of bluster and promises of jam tomorrow.Hopefully I'm wrong
Stmnt pretty encouraging, so up 1% but more to come

Re: GLIF tipped in Investors Chronicle Equally when Geoff Millar announced about a year ago (I guess now) that they were looking to head in a slightly different direction than before, he did say that share price could be a bit up and down whilst things were put in place, which is why they indicated then, that if able they would hold the dividend at least at 5p.But as a long time holder in GLIF, share ptice variations are not uncommon................ and to be honest, whilst both my wife and I get our quartly dividends into our ISA, we are happy to put up with variations...... But of course, it would be better/nicer if the SP headed up, and divi increased. Will be interesting to see what info/data comes out over the coming weeks.
Re: GLIF tipped in Investors Chronicle Share price move seems to indicate otherwise
Re: GLIF tipped in Investors Chronicle An IC recommend is usually the kiss of death ...!
GLIF tipped in Investors Chronicle IC's Simon Thompson has updated his views on GLIF"The bottom line is that with newsflow likely to remain very positive in the coming months, and GLI's portfolio now starting to produce investment gains as investments mature, then it's anomalous for GLI's shares to be trading inline with the book value of its investments. The share price is also supported by a hefty 1.25p a share quarterly dividend which the board have committed to. The company had a return on equity of 11.8 per cent in its last financial year and is aiming for a 10 to 15 per cent range, which seems a realistic target given that the blended interest rate on the loans GLI invests in is 11.1 per cent.Trading on a bid offer spread of 53.5p to 54p, I remain a buyer of GLI's shares and have a fair value target price of 80p."
Re: GLI Finance to list new debt fund They want to list a new debt fund as they see a gap in the market. They will receive an ongoing fee from the fund. In the first year the fee will be £750,000 based on £100m fund. So this will be supportive of the GLIF dividend.
Re: GLI Finance to list new debt fund I don't get it. What is this new fund for? We already have a fund right here, don't we??? What is actually going on here? Is it just a case of issuing as much equity as possible while the industry is hot, just for the money, at the expense of a clear corporate structure?? This is making me a bit nervous.
Re: GLI Finance to list new debt fund It is not immediately obvious to me as to how this new fund is going to help GLIF. It looks like a management distraction to me.What ever happened to that new platform they were about to launch using the money they urgently raised from the placement?
