Shocking Week - From £6.25 Even allowing for falls elsewhere this has to be oversold. The spread is working against this one also
NEW ARTICLE: Stockwatch: Is this builder in a sweet spot? "Is LSE:GLE:Gleeson in a sweet spot? This £300 million FTSE SmallCap housebuilder has a twin strategy for low-cost homes in the North of England and strategic land trading in the South - an approach currently doing very well and which looks ..."[link]
AGM Statement Lots of good news...and an improved expectation for full year. Nice to see land sales in the pipeline, so must be optimistic on any planning consents/hurdles too.
Re: Director sold Don't worry this business is going gangbusters and will continue to grow strongly this year , opening new offices in new regions. There is little competition at their end of the market and costs are being well controlled so I would sit tight and ride the tiger !!
Director sold Perhaps he just needed some cash.......hopefully he doesn't know something bad that is hiding in the woodpile.......
Rollercoster And there was me getting excited about £5 per share then I woke up this morning! I still think this will happen but look a long way off now or until the profit takers are out of the way
GLE vs BDEV comparison Good MJ Gleeson / Barratt Developments plc comparison. Has analysts estimates of EPS which is interesting. [link]
NEW ARTICLE: Stockwatch: A share full of upside surprises "Is it time to favour the smaller housebuilders? A Conservative majority government is likely to be seen as favourable for the industry, with smaller firms offering more select exposure and scope to leverage profits than mid to large caps. Mind ..."[link]
Re: Why? Today's 'chipper' statement backs that up; potentially some of the Strategic Land sales (profits) will roll into next FinYear, but these are longer-term land investments rising in value year on year (having been bought in previous recessionary times, in many cases), because greenfield Planning opportunities are bound to change under this Govt. Your target price should be achieved sooner rather than later (look at Bellway & Berkeley)
Re: Why? As per the interim results there are Board changes going on and perhaps this combined with probably already a substantial profit made and we are coming to the end of a tax year? Or he just needed the money! The market in these shares isn't huge so quite a lot to place and hence a fair bit of shares for the market makers to hold so a bigger drop than the sale warranted. I buy in at 350 and have a long term price target of £5 plus. All the fundamentals are very sound and house building, once the Election is over, will probably get back to the highs of last year and beyond. A good solid investment IMHO.
Why? Anybody got any thoughts on the lastest price reaction after these excellent results. Would like to know any chart bottom if possible
Investors Chronicle Buy Another IC buy rec, cash in the Bank, huge landbank and the best value for money houses money can buy. Four bed detached with garage for less than £150k all over the North of England. This is a business that hasn't put a foot wrong since it was restructured a few years ago. Eventually someone will pounce on it IMHO.
