Re: risky buy? No, I'm not saying that Palinghurst are delisting from JSE. I was only pondering the benefits yesterday of buying in to Gemfields at such a depressed price. When it is taken over and we receive Palinghurst shares we will (subject to finding a broker who deals on JSE) be able to sell the new shares. So I did buy in yesterday at 29.6p in an attempt to average down (seeing as the offer price is roughly 37p), and hope to sell the new holding once Gemfields is delisted and we have Palinghurst shares, on the JSE. The share price is up to 32p today so that's a 10% rise already. Hoping it was not a foolish decision!

Re: risky buy? I am under the impression Pallinghurst have a JSE listing . Are you informing us they are desisting from it. ???

evenlongershot 27 Jun 2017

risky buy? Ok, so massive falls today on the grim news that Pallinghurst will delist. But taking this on a step for Gemfields holders - if I don't accept the offer but I'm forced to accept the Palinghurst offer then buying in today will yield me a profit (or rather, average down my other losses) if I then sell my Palinghurst shares because aren't they listed on the JSE exchange? They're still listed on an exchange, it's not like they're being taken completely private no?? Unlike some companies where the AIM delisting results in a completely private company and you have to wait for a matched bargain facility. So, my question is, with the offer at roughly 37p and trading now at 29.5p could this be a good buy?? Or have I fundamentally misunderstood a part of this?!

Re: Keeps falling Topped again on - 12% fall @ 31.5p . On the 14th June went up to 40p when offer was about.Scuppered yesterday when Palinghurst forced take over through at lower ( but all share price )

End Game? DYOR but in my view the real end game now is actually the price and how Pallinghurst is prepared to sell its shares to Fosun. Pallinghurst is an investment trust that has publicly stated it wishes to 'harvest' its investments - i.e. Cash in and return as special dividends to its investors. Before this offer the Gem stake was valued to them at a 30% discount to Nav of 35p per share ( 24.5p). A cash offer of for example 60p to close out would be very attractive exit for Pallinghurst and it's investors versus years more of operational slog and ongoing discount.Fosun must know score and be holding back final offer to try and win over P. They are very acquisitive with well paid deal fee incentivised advisers used to complex long running deals and will know it will take a good bid to attract the majority shareholders consortium. They wouldn't have started this without that plan in my view.I'm holding tight now for the end game rather than selling up cheap in response to threats and hoping this assessment is correct and not just wishful thinking! Good luck all!

Is this legal? Pallinghurst cannot do what they want to do - offer a derisory sum in shares - and the stock exchange let them get away with it. There is even a higher cash offer on the table. This isn't Russia is it...we haven't been taken over whilst Trump was building his wall? So Corbyn did really win the election.....someone at the stock exchange has to tell Pallinghurst that we don't do business like this.....old man.

Re: palinghurst offer now unconditional? I posted Sunday the chairman's appears dishonest, he appears now be hindering a rival higher bid.Where is Winnifrith hes meant to report on such things !!!

palinghurst offer now unconditional? Hi folks - can anyone with more knowledge explain how their latest RNS affects things - if they lower the threshold to 60% does that mean their offer gets breezed through and Fosun doesn't get a look in? And will the change to 60% be an easy thing to achieve? thanks

Todays Telegaph. !!! Gemfields suitor Pallinghurst chairman's censure not declared !!

Re: Keeps falling offer is for 40.85p .. 15.1% above yesterdays price. 10.1% above Pall... offer.

Ripley94 14 Jun 2017

Re: Keeps falling Could only get negotiated trade until 8.05 then 40p live @ 8.05. to buy.You cant beat the brokers/ MM . Share dealing not a level playing field . Worse the smaller the company.

Re: Keeps falling Not sure what kolwezimundele is referring to .. concerned his post could be deliberately misleading. RNS yesterday after close my recent buys might prove to be wise.

Delisted This share has now been de-listed from the LSE. What with this recent news and the SFO investigation of Petrofac, May/June are proving to be very poor months for me.

Diversification Bought into GEM at 48p as diversification to other holdings in my portfolio, with a high upside price target from some brokers. Well, that was a bad idea - both by me and the brokers.

UK brokers allowing trades on JSE? Hello - does anyone know of any UK brokers who will allow holdings of South African listed shares i.e. to hold the new Palinghurst shares assuming the take over goes through? I'm with TD Direct and it doesn't look as if they allow trading on JSE.
