Re: Interims : Ouch MeanbuggerIt's a fair point. I think I remember reading somewhere once that they havn't raised any funds by issuing equity for decades, quite possibly since before I was born.Would having a listing make debt any easier to raise ? Anyway, I hope they don't go private. I hope to start buying again when the the oil business sorts itself out. Normally in a company like Goodwin, I'd ride it out, but the current situation in Oil and Gas service industry is pretty grim .At least, unlike some other bigger players, Goodwin is a bit more diverese.
Re: Interims : Ouch I'm just wondering if the Goodwin family might fancy taking the company private. Even though the shares reached over £40, the company never issued any new shares, it doesn't have share option schemes etc and the company doesn't seem to benefit from its quote. The board take a very long term view and might think in 10 years time the company could be worth 5x the current market cap. Offering £25 a share might find minority shareholders happy to take the money and running. If I was an investment banker I would definitely be sounding the family out to try and win a bit of business.
Interims : Ouch I thought a couple of years ago I'd be a holder of Goodwins till I'm retired or later but I'd already reduced my holding over the last couple of months and sold out entirely this morning.I still love the management and the company, but it's going to be tough to cope with the current situation in Oil and Gas, so it's a sector I'm avoiding like the plague at the moment.

Interim statement The interim statement is, as always, terse in the extreme. But for the first time it is also ambiguous. What does "the trading situation as advised at last year end and at the end of the first half of this year is starting to ease down" mean? Are things getting better or worse?Dear Goodwin, if you're going to make short statements at least make them clear ones.
Re: Entry price Thanks CrocsHave decided to wait until there next update. Good luck with your drip feed.
Re: Entry price Hi Geminic,I too had the same dilemma. I read some interesting articles on ii and found it to be a diversified eng company so not all eggs in one basket. However with the risks I decided to drip feed each month. I will reassess when they release some figures or other RNS.Crocs
Entry price Would like to take acstake in this company but not sure how low the price might go and how much profits may be hit by the low oil price and subsequent fall in orders. Any ideas?
