forddrive ,The obvious thing to do , if you are worried , is to phone the company and speak to the FD. -S. Kilpatrick.- I have found him and his predecessor to be very helpful. I have seen no need to do so recently. I prefer to concentrate on picking up shares at around this price.

J Fisher I see that Clarksons the quoted ship broker are in the process of taking over a Scandinavian company that does marine services - for £280m.. Could this have any bearing on the recent slide in the J Fisher share price? Has it perhaps removed a possible deal from the table?

Re: J Fisher It's possible, of course. But the people who run this company are pretty sharp operators.

Re: J Fisher But if they did as you say (buying £500k), why did the price continue to slip? I still think that a major liquidation of a previous position is going on. If I am right, it will of course even out eventually, but meanwhile smaller shareholders get nervous and sell as well in case whoever is selling knows something that they don't - for example, problems with a big contract. We are holding ourselves because we don't know of any such problem, and the company is well managed with experienced managers. But it is of course possible that something has gone wrong.

Re: J Fisher I can't say that I've noticed anything, but what I think did happen today is that somebody bought £500k worth.

Re: J Fisher Richygm - you may well be right, though this does have the feeling that a major shareholder may have liquidated/be liquidating their position over the past month or so. Were that to be the case, it would be nice to know why.

Re: J Fisher My own view (FWIW) is simply that small cap valuations, especially, had got ahead of themselves. (According to one recent IC article on Fisher, their valuation was higher even than their US equivalents, whereas it's usually the other way around.) They are still, I believe, 50% higher over five years, which I still some going! I remain watching, with a view to buying at some stage, although I have no idea how much further they will fall.

J Fisher Can anyone explain why there has been such a precipitous fall in the share price (now ca 35% from the peak), and which is continuing relentlessly?Thank you.

Irrational market ? forddrive, perhaps you should see it as an opportunity to buy at a good price. I have never shown much interest in charts / chartists, or the somewhat obscure terminology associated with them. Charts only reliably tell you what has already happened ,----and we already know that.

forddrive 25 Nov 2014

J Fisher In chartist terms, this is becoming more like Head and Stomach!

J Fisher "Head and Shoulders" believers were right.
