J Fisher Quite solid results considering they have a leg in the oil business.

binjiou 08 Feb 2016

pending results The shares are down with the general market, but in small volume. if markets continue to decline , (a distinct possibility), few shares will escape the carnage. However FSJ is a well diversified company with long term growth prospects . We have been forewarned about the short term.It is not wise to presume anything in this game .Depending on results, I might add beneath 900p.

J Fisher I presume that investors are nervous about the full year results. Are they right to be nervous?

FSJ A welcome bounce back - suggesting that investors remain confident that this is a solid company, despite the oil-related problems.

Re: FSJ IMO problem is a sector weakness. Investors are very nervous of anything connected with oil production. JFS's direct and indirect oil & gas exploration services are the problem. WEIR's SP collapsed because they made a lot of profit on fracking pumps.I have held off buying JSF so far.

FSJ This is becoming dispiriting. Investors seem to have fallen out of love with FSJ so the price drifts downwards. Will anything arrest this decline?

Re: Undervalued? We have held FSJ for many years. At one stage the sp was near £15. This is a good example of a medium sized, well managed company, that was on a good growth curve but then faltered - mainly due to market difficulties. Having entered the FTSE 350 some time ago, it has recently been ejected. The result has been that the various tracker funds baled out, which has exaggerated the size of the dip in the sp. I have no reason to believe that things will not improve from now on and it is indeed possible that FSJ will reenter the FTSE 350 - if that happened, the sp could motor up again. We hold and continue to buy below £9.50.

Undervalued? For the first time I looked at FSJ today. My first impression was that it was undervalued. These are some notes I made:Marine Service. Exposed to offshore oil explorationNet gearing 30.7%ROCE 20%Yield 2.3% cvr x3.9, progressive div since 1992 with only 1 minor glitchPE 10.9ROCE 20%Quickly read last company report and noticed that offshore oil service accounted for only 17% of revenue.Pity the dividend is not around 3.5% then it would be more attractive just as an income investment. It looks to me like SP could rise 20% in the next 12 months. It might even get back into FTSE 250 within 2 years. Not really sure about buying. Not an obvious income or growth share. Pretty safe IMO, very little chance of it going bust.

FSJ ejected from FTSE250 FSJ have now been dropped out of the FTSE250 following this month's FTSE rejig after the poor results:[link] Canaccord have dropped their price target to 1050p:[link] latest broker forecasts from Singer and Canaccord are for around 66p EPS this year and 66p-69p EPS next year.I'd say a price of around 900p-1000p would be fair value at present given the above.

Re: FSJ On current results I agree. My expectation is that the company will return to growth in the medium term and the shares will be rerated - but no rush......probably.

forddrive 26 Aug 2015

FSJ Around £11 is now fair value, IMHO.

Re: Results Agree. Bought a few more.

FSJ These results were well signalled in advance. FSJ remains a solid and well run company, hit for a time by the collapsing oil price. However it remains a sound investment.

tejo 25 Aug 2015

Results Surprised at fall in sp to-day since results and comment much better than might have been expected in view of the collapse in the oil market. believe shares now undervalued.
