Re: O/T MF04 - sasa Hello gwm,I have only just popped in here so will have a look at SUK2. MF04 was a complex instrument so I don't know if I will be able to compare. Of course you may already know that MF04 has been discontinued. It's probably safer for pi's to use a special short/long account offered by Plus500 or similar than the complex instruments like SocGen's. They are illiquid and may be difficult to exit.Casa.
Re: O/T MF04 - sasa Hi.. SUK2 is a etfs ftse 100 short , Ive had it on watch a long time but as yet never bought. How does this compare? Fres.. super results, pays divi, largecompany, precious metals sector,, but whats happened to it since last month
Re: O/T MF04 - sasa Thanks for your comments, sasa, much appreciated.Casa.
Re: O/T MF04 - sasa Hi casa - 'puts' & 'calls' in the traded options mkt are pretty straight forward; you're getting involved with a wasting asset (the clock running down is the problem) - it has to happen, whatever you're hoping for, within the duration of the option 'life', otherwise...There aren't any margin calls unless funds are borrowed for the process, like CFD's - in the case of your MF04, the index 'put' is set at 7900, so you have a reasonable cushion right now; good luck - sasa.
Interim results I have just read the bullet points on the interim results and they are mighty impressive. FRES is noted for its share price volatility but these results should put a floor under ths sp for a while at least. There are not many Companies able to show such progress with profitability in these days of high debt and low interest rates so well done FRES. Moreover, the future looks bright too. I think that gold and silver prices have further to rise due to the risky nature of fundamentals. Currency debasement is still rife. Watch out for Japan's next move and also for the rise in inflation. I have sold a few last week but the proceeds were invested in MF04 so they are not wasted. The rest i will keep a tight hold of.
