Re: Bopping around the Christmas Tree "And since we are on the subject of conspiracy theories. Where are all the great results that were kept hidden until after the Argentinian elections?"The only thing I said was that any exploration announcements would probably be muted until after the elections were over, which, as it happens, produced the very best outcome we could have expected for the FI, at least for the time being.Surely you didn't expect on, or just after 10/12/15, when Macri took office, that suddenly FOGL, RKH, PMO, NBL, or anyone else involved would suddenly say: "OK everyone, now we can spill the beans and this is what actually happened during the 2015 campaign so far..............."?If that's what you expected, then you're the one who's "daft".The sort of thing I expect is that Macri (whose hands are pretty full right now) will make some policy announcement about the FI (although he'll probably still refer to them as "Las Malvinas" to keep as many Argentineans as possible on side), which will be a lot better than anything that the lovely Cristina might have said.As for the exploration companies, you may expect a little more detail from now, but for the time being, be pleased with the election outcome (when a lot of other news is not going our way) and don't be "daft".

Re: Bopping around the Christmas Tree You're daft Thinking that PMO (or the company that operates the rig) will arrange a BOP problem, to give RKH some kind of advantage on the FOGL merger is ridiculous. And since we are on the subject of conspiracy theories. Where are all the great results that were kept hidden until after the Argentinian elections?

Re: Buying Opportunity The problem is when will the merged entity have any value? What if the decision to go ahead with development is put on hold until 2019 (which I think likely)The cash pile will likely then get burnt. If Izzy fails god help both, if Izzy comes in then there will be decent short term upside from here.It really is a punt on Izzy IMHO.So Punk do you feel lucky?

strategies Any thoughts on how the differing strategies of fogl and rkh will fit together after the merger? rkh have always intended to be a producing co with fogl intent on proving up and selling.

Buying Opportunity Really interested to hear people's views re this being a unique buying opportunity or not?I've topped up big time for the following reasons and would be interested to hear the views of others. (Please note that my thinking is based upon the new combined entity):1. Merger is going to happen unless someone takes out in which case they're going to have to pay north of 40p to get agreement2. Combined entity is going to have between 500m and 1 billion barrels of oil and around 1£100m of cash plus whatever the insurance claims deliver which could be quite a few million pounds of extra cash.3. Given we're not in production, we can sit and wait this out whilst the Saudis effectively kill the competition and cause a huge supply shock in around 18 months time just in time for us to move to the development phase. In other words as supply is cut and the existing fields around the world start to yield less, there will be nothing new and ready to be brought on stream4. On the back of this, Oil is going to recover and the spike back up could be quick and aggressive. We will be one of the best placed companies on the market to take advantage of the rise and investors will quickly seize on bargain companies who are best placed.5. I still expect Izzie to be a huge success. The market is discarding any oil assets at the moment and the price reflects this. In addition FOGL is now a cheap way into Rockhopper so financially it makes sense to buy here rather than over there.6. We have all invested a lot of hard earned cash here and I like many are sitting heavily under water but the story has actually got better. So long as oil recovers there is a possibly once in generation opportunity. For £1,500 you can pick up 20,000 shares and reduce your average price paid massivelyGood luck to all but keep the faith on this one ..... the Saudis and Russians are hurting just as much as we are but as they say, no pain, no gain!Good luck to you all whatever you decide to do..... by the end of January we could be sitting on 500m barrels of proven oil, £100m of cash and oil could be rising. At just 7.5p a share this has to be worth one last punt.

Bopping around the Christmas Tree At the RKH AGM yesterday a Director went on record to say the ER suffered a BOP failure on Isobel.Call me daft but isn't it in RKHs favour to have the Isobel result delayed....

Re: Eirik Raude - BOP It is a bit of shame that this kind of news it trickling through as comment passed on from the RKH meeting. It would have been nice to have the news come through (RNS perhaps) via FOGL.

Muchaboutmoney 14 Dec 2015

Topped Up Just topped up at these prices now it looks like the deal will go through.Leaves me with an average price paid of 21p and a post merger price required to break even of around 66p which should be very doable so long as oil recovers and Izzie is a success.Frankly I am livid at the ER again failing us. The partners have paid good money for this rig and it has failed at every turn.Could and should be some serious money back on tjhe insurance for this at some point in the future.

Re: Eirik Raude I think they're strill trying to find the good BOP amongst all the discarded faulty ones kicking about on the seabed. But Shhhhh, nobody needs to know alright!Monk
