Re: rkh to fogl whether it goes through roof or not but its definitely gone through basement

Re: rkh to fogl The merger will sale through people.Voting against is little more than turkeys voting for Christmas. There is no alternative so my advice is to fill your boots now whilst you can. Buying into Rockhopper at the equivalent of 25p with what we will have a s a combined enitity is the bargain of the century if Izzie comes good too.No doubt in my mind that the CPR has been withheld deliberately and that this was always the plan assuming that Humpback failed. For a plan b it's a pretty good one.Work through the numbers and this could go through the roof in 18 months time.

Re: rkh to fogl As you say, its probably OK, but there have been a few follow ups where they try to get you to deal by offering discounts and then asking for your bank details ect.

Re: rkh to fogl When Dragon oil were being taken over recently, a number of shareholders were contacted like this. It was an attempt to determine how many votes they needed to get the required % to force the takeover through.

Re: rkh to fogl Hi Pond1.The guy just wanted to confirm I'd received the voting info and had sent it back ? No offer to buy any shares or for me to sell FOGL etc - I would have told him where to go on that one. He said it was a survey on behalf of FOGL to make sure shareholders had got everything. Am trying to see where a Scam maybe ? Knew my name, I didn't disclose my address or the number of share I hold. Just interested to hear if there is anyone out there who's also had a similar call ? R.

Re: rkh to fogl Anyone else got a call asking about if you've received the voting docs, posted them off and how you voted ? Said doing a survey on behalf of FOGL ! R.

Re: The RKH GM. Thanks for that quality postThe only slight worry for me is that RKH post acquisition, seemingly, will let the SFB licences lapse. That would seem a waste for all the quality 3-d seismic FOGL did. I am still staggered TBH that after blowing all the cash on 3d etc that FOGL allowed themselves to be caught with their pants around their ankles.

Re: The RKH GM. Thanks for that Biff - a good report. Regarding Fiona's comments, "50m off centre is normal" - I never said that it wasn't, I just reported the movement. What wasn't normal was when I reported the triangular walkabout - that wasn't normal, and indicated that it was unlatched from the riser. It was a heads-up for me, but I was reluctant to report that as such, as it would/could have been seen as de-ramping!D.

Re: The RKH GM. Thanks for that Biffadog, your post gives plenty of room for thought.

The RKH GM. I have just posted this on the RKH board. Thought it might also interest FOGL holders. I appreciate that most of us hold both. This is only my take on things and should be treated as such. It is not the gospel.I attended the RKH GM yesterday and whilst there spent about 20 minutes talking to Fiona MacAuley after the meeting and a similar amount of time speaking to Stuart MacDonald before the meeting. I also briefly spoke to Pierre Jungels and Sam Moody. I have attended the last two AGMs and spoke to Pierre at some length at the May 2015 AGM. Given the current market conditions (grim) I found the mood of the BOD upbeat. My feeling is that they have a sound long term strategy and the only factor that has changed is the timescale (more on that later). The take over of FOGL only serves to cement this strategy. I think this is now a foregone conclusion and believe the deal is a good one for both parties. This was a GM with the sole aim of passing (or rejecting) the merger of RKH and FOGL.Anybody expecting more than this (i.e a full presentation on RKH) does not fully understand what a GM of this nature is all about.Sam opened up with a brief synopsis, outlining why the BOD felt the merger (read take over) was a good idea.It was made patently clear that this deal is all about PL04b and ensuring that Sealion gets developed ASAP whilst maximising the opportunity of securing an active and financially strong 3rd party. PL04a (Isobel and Elaine), whilst looking rather tasty, is a secondary. PL05 is way off in the distant future and you can forget about the SFB.Sam stated that PL04b contained some 250-270 MMBO in total. He also said that if the current drill “works” we are looking at 500-600 MMBO for the Isobel/Elaine complex. If it “doesn’t work” then it’s still good for 150-200 MMBO. (Note: This is not audited). From my conversation with Fiona, she said that an unaudited estimate, using just the 24m penetrated out of the targeted 80m of Isobel Deep, gives 47 MMBO. So loads more upside on Isobel Deep. John Summers said that the current drill should (not guaranteed though) be able to provide the information to give a more exact figure for Isobel Deep as well as a definitive result on the many other reservoir targets. I assume that this must be where Sam gets the 200-250 MMBO estimate from.RKH are pretty hopeful about the often overlooked Chatham drill too. This could add another 60 MMBO.Whilst on the subject of the current drill, I can confirm that the drill bit has stopped turning. BOP problems again. Hardly any progress has been made on the drill so far. Can’t give you a drill depth because forgot to ask.The Isobel Deep drill hit problems with a spot of high pressure and without the extra casing they were unable to pump down thicker mud to ease the problem (I hope that makes sense as I’ve recalled this bit as best I can. I am not a geologist or oil industry type).RKH would have incorporated the correct casing in the well design to cover this eventuality had they been Operator. Ho hum. However, Fiona said Isobel Deep is not over pressured and that this is “good pressure” that will greatly aid future oil extraction. The BOP and the rig basically not fit for purpose. The ER is only really fit for the scrapheap and as far as RKH are concerned the sooner it leaves the NFB the better.PMO were assured that the previous BOP issues had been sorted out before hiring the rig and this has turned out to be untrue. A big part of the delays has been down to not having skilled BOP guys on board to fix the problems as they occurred as they have been deployed elsewhere. You cannot just swap a BOP.Fiona said that whilst not paying for rig down time, over a pre agreed number of days (which has already been reached), the ER was only half the total daily cost of the drill. They have no idea when to expect a result from the Isobel/Elaine drill. Having said this, there was never going to be a result before the FOG

Re: Bopping around the Christmas Tree Cheers Yeasty,I realise the comment wasn't aimed solely, or particularly at me, but I was one who repeated the suggestion that announcements were likely to be somewhat superficial until after the election and I still believe that.I'm not saying that this policy got Macri elected, but it may have helped by not giving the odious Peronists anything extra to cling onto.Anyway, it's history now, but I believe activities in the region will be just a little simpler with Macri as president, but he isn't going to have it all his own way.

Re: Bopping around the Christmas Tree Hi Ovets47,The remark wasn't specificaly targeted at you. Over the years there have been many "explanations" by many people why certain events have or have not occurred. I can't remember any of it bearing fruit. Although I can imagine they might be careful about communicating certain safety related problems with the drills. Just because they don't want to give the Argies any valid arguments why we shouldn't drill in the Falklands. But anything further than that I really doubt.Indeed let's hope for something positive from Macri. We can certainly need it. At least we don't have to look at pictures of the botox queen anymore
