News Good news and all going as planned...........apart from the massive elephant in the room that is the moratorium.Buying opportunity????........all depends on what you think will be the outcome of the investigation into fracking.Still tend to agree with others that they surely wouldn't have made this investment without being comfortable that fracking would get agreement. Just depends how long the process will take.....

Re: News soon I would say we are in a stage of delicate talks between all parties and government, they need to be very sure of next move before releasing anything. I personally still think we are on a winner here all down to governments decision.that said I can not see falcon or origin backing a lame duck to this point to be told it can not proceed

Re: News soon We should now be in production testing for Amungee and Beetaloo TD is this weekend (assuming the top end of 50 days forecast from spud).Could really do with news here and a statement regarding the moratorium on fracking following the election.

News soon We're certainly due an operational update and it would also be good to know the impact of the recent NT elections on fracking.

encouraging Petroleum (Environment) RegulationsThe Northern Territory Government supports the responsible development of an onshore oil and gas industry that has the potential to provide significant, long term economic benefits for Territorians. These benefits include:##employment opportunities##regional economic and infrastructure development##and the potential for future royalties to provide greater educational opportunities as well as economic independence for the Territory.Following extensive public consultation, the Department of Mines and Energy (DME) has developed new Petroleum (Environment) Regulations. The new Petroleum (Environment) Regulations were approved by Executive Council and signed by the Administrator on Tuesday, June 28, and come into effect on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.These new environment regulations form an important part of the regulatory framework for the onshore oil and gas industry and are key to ensuring environmental protection and an increase in community confidence. All onshore oil and gas activity must demonstrate that all environmental risks and impacts are identified and reduced to an acceptable level. The Petroleum (Environment) Regulations have been developed to incorporate best practice from other Australian jurisdictions. The Petroleum (Environment) Regulations deliver on recommendations by Dr Allan Hawke AC about the introduction of a best-practice regulatory system for the NT and take into account recommendations from energy law expert Dr Tina Hunter. The Regulations embrace the principles of Ecologically Sustainable Development (as defined in the Commonwealth’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act) and focus on minimising environmental impacts to as low as reasonably practicable.A condition of the Regulations is that approved Environment Management Plans will become public and legally binding documents meaning that companies must comply with their approved plans.Plans that were approved prior to the commencement of the regulations will be deemed to be approved plans for a period of 18 months until 1 December 2017

Next events So, hopefully the end of August will bring us more news on progress, with the completion of hydraulic stimulation on Amungee and expected drilling completion of the latest drill on Beetaloo.

Magic trick This share's blue today, hurrah! Except if seems to have lost 1.5p over the weekend and opens at 6p and not 7.5p. I guess I wasn’t watching close enough – which thimble was the coin under again?

Malcy's Blog Falcon Oil & Gas Whilst I was away Falcon had an operational update which confirmed my bullishness on the company. Results of the in-depth shale evaluation programme were very positive, over pressurised with high gas saturation making it perfect for fraccing and as I reported last month it looks like a potentially world class unconventional play, one of the best in Australia of no doubt. I have a meeting with P’OQ coming up shortly and will report back but the shares which are up over 100% this year so far might go much further. - See more at: [link]

Encouraging Philip O'Quigley, CEO of Falcon commented"I am delighted to update the market on the results of the in-depth shale evaluation program and petrophysical analysis carried out of all the technical data gathered on the three wells drilled during 2015. The results confirm early indications, as previously communicated, that this is a highly prospective basin.Falcon's shareholders can look forward to another exciting year of exploration activity which has the potential to transform the value of your company. Falcon remains fully carried throughout 2016 by our partners Origin and Sasol."

Taken from lse.co.uk This paper gives the results of Origin's drilling campaign 2015Unconventional gas potential in Proterozoic source rocks: Exploring the Beetaloo Sub-basin[link] acquired extensive wireline data, sidewall core and full core data in addition to undertaking real-time geochemical analysis of cuttings while drilling. These results indicate reservoir intervals contain gas-saturated, quartz-rich source rocks that are mature for gas over extensive areas, providing an excellent exploration target with material volumetric upside. Additional information from acquisition of pressured sidewallcoresanddiagnosticfractureinjectivitytests(DFIT) complemented the reservoir assessment, yielding accurate data on gas composition, saturation and an estimate of pore pressure. Results of the wells are positive and encouraging gas-in-place metrics were observed; however, substantial further work is required to continue to assess the key risk of delivering commercial ow rates from multi-stage fracture stimulated horizontal wells

Jack Dignall Motley fool re falcon Investing in the oil & gas sector is risky at the moment but the reward is huge. In the case of Falcon Oil & Gas, I think it offers one of the best investment cases in the sector. The company has no large capital expenditure for years, and has exposure to the high-impact drilling campaign of which the first two of nine wells have been successful. Even after the share price rose last week on the back of good well results, I believe Falcon is a good bet for the future and should outperform. Jack Dingwall has no position in any shares mentioned. The Motley Fool UK has no position in any of the shares mentioned. We Fools don't all hold the same opinions, but we all believe that considering a diverse range of insights makes us better investors.

Iceberg I have been watching these guys for a while, as I was impressed by the critical mass of their partners, the vast acres, the geology, the neighbours, the safe geography, the gas shows and thick reservoir sections that make the potential for horizontal drilling much more efficient. This is an unfolding story not a simple binary drill result. There are geotechnicals to release in terms of porosity and permeability etc, gas shows and eventually (March?) the results of an extended flow test on the newly drilled horizontal after the frac job. If they can make one well flow this is worth, no one knows, but perhaps 10x the current price in time. The prize is so huge.If they fail....there are still free carry wells to be drilled elsewhere on the vast acres, there is still cash to keep them going to 2017, there is South Africa, there are different frac approaches that their sizeable and knowledgable partners can bring to the table. The price fell after the first encouraging result. So I bought some. Bought some more, then on a chucklesome rise bought some more at 5.88p this morning. I am not expecting them to crack this on the first frac ('scuse pun), nor to get stunning results, but rather to grind this out to full value in time. Please feel free to throw away your shares. I am waiting.GMP brought out a very positive note this morning, as did a couple of other brokers.
