clearly leaked! last week.numbers no good this will maybe breakeven but as I keep telling you the model is flawed.you cannot fly new leased aircraft and make a profit. If you buy the depreciation wipes profit out.Far netter investments in the sky if that's what you want.Look how lowly DART is valued with 300 million of cash no debt and makes 50 million a year.tiger
trading update I do not know why anyone should be surprised that Flybe had hedged their oil and dollar exposure. It was eminently sensible to do so whilst trying to turn the company around. All the competition will have done the same to a greater or lesser extent. The main uncertainties are the legacy issues and if these can be resolved, the future is bright. imho.. SP is way oversold.
Re: Unexciting trading update They are not disasterous results. But clearly there is quite a way to go.A drop of over 30% in a day and bit seems a tad harsh though?
Re: Unexciting trading update .......and what looks, from Friday's fall in the share price, very much like a leak doesn't help to generate confidence in investing here.
Re: Unexciting trading update Imo, the outlook statement is unconvincing. The turnround is going to take much longer than anticipated.
Unexciting trading update Lots of ifs and buts as usual form this company, even under new management. No benefits from low fuel prices, even in FY 16 too.Really quite small improvements in the numbers.Better value for money elsewhere, even after the price drop.
Passenger numbers Aberdeen and London City Firstly, a story from "The Independent":[link] of a contraction in the Scottish oil industry also hit Flybe, as HSBC warned that the regional airline could see a slowdown in traffic to Aberdeen. That, coupled with greater competition at London City airport, condemned Flybe to a 10.5p fall to 90p."Then, the actual situation at Aberdeen Airport:[link] Benzie, the airport MD was reflecting on another year of strong growth at the airport. She said: I am delighted to look back over 2014 and see growth across the board in every month. We are hopeful that the numbers for December, when they are released, will make equally positive reading and will show we have had a full year of steady growth. This reflects well on the whole region and shows our resilience. And at London City Airport (note the bounce in the last few months, in the time FLYB has been using the airport):[link] 2014 2013 % variance+/-January 241,041 208,310 16%February 245,970 244,802 0.5%March 282,695 278,149 2%April 288,290 294,791 -2.2%May 316,692 288,014 -9.1%June 311,442 326,684 4.9%July 342,969 328,947 4.3%August 328,910 280,752 17.2%September 335,728 306,339 9.6%October 352,403 302,845 16.3%November 337,671 284,352 18.8%December tba 232,942 Now, yes, these are total numbers, not specific to FLYB but I see no evidence of a slump in numbers. I'm not a dedicated cheerleader for FLYB by any means but, imho, the turnaround story is still very much intact. All IMHO, DYOR.
Re: Good Times ahead Comment pick up from Paul Scott on Stockopedia today in response to a query on whether he knew why the price tanked today. His response: 'Looking at Digitallook there appear to have been some quite recent broker downgrades of earnings for the next 2 years. They are quite significant downgrades from what I can see, Perhaps this might be the cause? - See more at: [link]
Re: Good Times ahead Well I hope they keep enough choccies for my trip to Manchester with them when I go to New York in June
Re: Good Times ahead Themanxman,"Any ideas what is behind it?"An increase in the price of chocolates?LKH in Davos
Re: Good Times ahead down 14%!Volume of 2.24m. Something isn't right.
Re: Good Times ahead Looking at the trades, the total volume is quite high, but there is only one trade of 50k, quite a lot of 20k's. On the other hand, opening on 100p is always a dangerous situation and there doesn't seem to be a lot of rises, a lot of falls across all the watch portfolios I have on my list.
Re: Good Times ahead Nope! Someone has some information, or hit a stop loss and everyone hit the button. Not I!
This stinks of bad news next week!... 75p by the end of next week at this rate!! ..Awful share that has crashed and burned today, can't wait to sell this rubbish!!!
Re: Good Times ahead Well, judging by the drop in shareprice anyone would think i'd actually bought in. It's the first time going on my watch list has invoked such a violent down turn in the shareprice!Any ideas what is behind it?
