Re: Sale of shares. it's long term growth potential , both in the Falkland's and in the UK."' ---------- ---------- -----TWO spelling mistakes in a short three line press release. The odious Rowland has eyes only for his private off shore bank accounts.
Sale of shares. Fogl has sold 5 million shares in Falkland Oil & Gas ("FOGL" for £1.4 million, generating a profit of £0.4 million for the Group. With the sale of these 5 million shares, FIH has completed the realisation of its investment in Over the last 10 years since FOGL's flotation, FIH has generated over £8 million in cash proceeds and £5 million in profits from its highly successful investment in FOGL.So with the money held back from cancelling the dividend, plus this sale of Fogl shares added to those sold previously, surely they must need the money for some big expansion plans for the oil infrastructure that will be required as exploration gains momentum, with of course all the follow on once production starts.I still though find it strange that they have sold pre drilling results, as we know the drill success risk factor has been reduced over the last few months, so why sell now!.[link]
Pro's and Con's of Edmund Rowland Against.1. Has cut dividend.2. Has sold down the Fogl Factor.3. Has overseen the biggest drop in Fkl share price.4. Has not really explained any expansion plans with credibility.5. Has not made any effort to communicate the future direction of Fkl.For.1. Has youth on his side...so could be dynamic and decisive.2. Has a good investment banking network to tap into.3. Has a virtual clean sheet to start expanding with.4. Has Blackfish Capital investors to answer to.5. Has looked at the balance sheet and decided it needs to go beyond the status quo. The FIG will one day be making massive decisions on what to do with the future oil revenue.....perhaps Blackfish have seen the potential here...or.... Not!!
Re: Interview with Edmund Rowland Chairm... I cant see any joy in all of this it will only be in the interests of Blackfish.---------- ---------- ----Further, it will only be in the interests of Edmund Rowland. His father is a very wealthy man who has made it from nothing in the shark infested waters of finance and business. Most of you will recall some of his activities from past news stories.I don't doubt that Edmund has been taught well how to asset strip companies. If anyone wants an idea of the type of shark that is involved, then have a read of these two webpages which give an insight into Edmund Rowlands father and his world;[link] still thinking their dividend retention and investment in fkl are being looked after well for their benefit..?
Re: Interview with Edmond Rowland Chairm... Now, when he succeeds in multiplying the market cap, good for me then! ---------- ---------- ----You and me both, Ekati!But...how will they do that?No chance with Momart and a Captain Pugwash ferry business. The FIs are, of course, the only part of the business where an extraordinary increase in market cap could occur (without dilution). However, this could only happen with the explosive mayhem of an oil strike. A proper one.Which is looking less likely as time passes.Ho hum...
Re: Interview with Edmond Rowland Chairm... Now, when he succeeds in multiplying the market cap, good for me then! ( if without dilution of course )
Re: Interview with Edmond Rowland Chairm... Nice write-up.From now on we're invested in Rowland Investment Pool ( RIP )
Re: Interview with Edmond Rowland Chairman During 2015 so far;- Chairman David Hudd resigned from the board, succeeded by non-executive deputy chairman Edmund Rowland, a director of Blackfish Capital Management- Mike Killingley, retired- £4m approx surplus cash- £2.3m raised from sale of fogl shares- Dividend completely cut until further notice (about £1.4m pa I think Rowland said during the interview?)April 2015, press release for David Hudd's resignation (no doubt he was made an offer he couldn't refuse...) was handled by Rowland who represented the companys media profile. The current interview (as posted by pond1) to explain fkls position is given by Rowland. There is little (any?) sight of the companys MD, John Foster. Probably locked away in a cabinet in Rowland's office. In summary, fkl is now seemingly being entirely run by Blackfish with their +20% controlling share ownership. The broom has swept through the boardroom and the companys sole focus is cash accumulation.Rowland was parachuted in last year and is now making his move on behalf of Blackfish.Dont expect the private shareholders to be given any consideration.I cant see any joy in all of this it will only be in the interests of Blackfish. We have been fleeced. Another lesson in the risky mechanics of AIM shares.

Jerry Zucker The Jerry Zucker Trust raised his stake by the same amount of shares that Mr. Licht sold. I've been searchint the net for some more info about the Trust but find nothing that can tell me what kind of investment philosophy they have. They seem to invest in very different comapnies.Anybody?Thx.
Re: Not such bad decisions.... Maybe I'll change my mind when things get clearer but for now I don't like it. They ripped off my nice and almost secure div. ---------- ----Ekati - yup, agreed completely. At least I THOUGHT it was a secure div! This has reminded me it's an AIM share and so the board has a freer hand...blah blah.I have traded this one for years and kept a core holding since 2011.I was giving the company far too much respect.I will similarly hold my opinion until they provide details on just what it is they're planning on doing with our retained div money.Meantime, while we're kept in the dark, the 5 year graph tells a story. In spite of all the comments about how well the business is doing (Momart exceptional year etc) the sp has gone DOWN in 5 years. And now we have no dividend. So, I look forward to the board telling me how fabulous these 'projects' are...because they have to compensate for shareholders losing capital AND no fri ggin dividend returns.Imo something ain't right.
Re: Not such bad decisions.... Maybe I'll change my mind when things get clearer but for now I don't like it. They ripped off my nice and almost secure div. There must be many other LT holders being upset by last changes.See it going ( a bit ) lower till further news comes in.
Re: Not such bad decisions.... FKL profits for 2014 are likely to be at a near record level, excluding FOGL exceptional profit, and 2013 record year had the advantage of an unusually high level of profits from MOMART.The market is at near record levels, most shares with decent prospects likewise. Most of us with a reasonably balanced portfolio can't believe our luck!FKL are at a three year low by a big margin.Rightly for some reason or hopefully wrongly the Rowland factor?
Mr. Licht also voting with his feet imo.
Re: Not such bad decisions.... I still don't rule out a whole new investment opportunity outside the FL.
