Re: Oil price no worry for FKL "LOL!If the shareprice declines much further we could be reaching the point where the true resale value of the niche MOMART division, the ferry business + net cash on hand could be worth more than the market value & the entire profitable & improving Falkland Islands businesses, almost none of which is dependent on oil prospecting could be in for free.I have not bothered to give any value to the FOGL shares;I have always considered them as a possible bonus!"I have never really looked closely at this company before and was surprised to see it owns a ferry company based on the south coast and an art business! Does anyone think that is a little unfocused? Or is it sensible to diversify away from the Falklands in case the oil campaign returns little?I agree with TX2 that the shares in FOGL are almost in for free yet if there is success in this year's drilling campaign I would have thought FKL could do well too. In the meantime it pays a 4% dividend and there is no risk of running out of cash and folding once the drilling is over! So here is a question: back in 2012 the company raised £10m to improve their Falklands business in preparation for economic growth on the islands. They have around £4m left so what has the £6m been spent on?
Re: Edmund Rowland [link] family history. If it is the same Edmund.
Re: Edmund Rowland Blackfish paid 320p per share so will want the shareprice to recover to reflect the company's value. The fall is due I feel to us been seen as an oil related stock, when in reality oil exploration is only a potential bonus in the future in addition to future growth in FKLs existing business. Also the smallcap sector outside the resource field is also somewhat out of favour with investors at the moment.
Edmund Rowland Edmund Rowland joined the BoD at about the same time as Blackfish Capital bought 2.5 Million shares in FKL, this represents a 20% holding. Blackfish Capital is a niche Investment Fund Management that specialises in special situations. The Rowland Family also own Banque Havilland, a Luxembourg Investment Bank, with a division in the Bahamas. At the time of the Investment, comment was made by David Hudd, that he welcomed the Investment, as it also gave FKL a line of future Investment credit without the need to offer any further stock dilution. It is my guess that Blackfish Capital see some potential in FKL, and are here for the long term. which makes the new CEO seem to be the right choice at this time. The small 12.5 Million share issue, make FKL a perfect vehicle for a small bespoke investment fund, now with the ability to help drive FKL forward. Good luck to Edmund Rowland and all FKL holders.[link]
Re: FKL.David Hudd steps down Edmund Rowland was appointed to the board last year as non exec deputy;I assume in a planned replacement. Is Edmund a member of the Roland family who are connected to the largest shareholder?
Re: FKL.David Hudd steps down Have always my doubts when someone of an investment fund is taking control.
Re: FKL.David Hudd steps down I hope his successor is made of the same wood!
FKL.David Hudd steps down Tuesday, February 10th 2015 - 03:51 UTCFalkland Islands Holdings David Hudd steps down; new chairman is Edmund RowlandFalkland Islands Holdings chairman David Hudd has resigned from the board with immediate effect and been succeeded by non-executive deputy chairman Edmund Rowland, it was reported on Monday. Todays RNS Most of the new estimates for quantity for all the wells mentioned are higher than previously and I bet that they have under estimated pre full 3D data being released.Todays news is very good and makes Fogl's prospects a very good investment.
Re: Strange or what. It did seem to do this yesterday but in the opposite direction i.e. up on small volume. Back to where it was really. Not a clue why either though.
Strange or what. I appreciate many small oilies are down today including some, but not all of those in the Falkland Fields, but usually FKL follow up or down by smaller percentages.Today FKL is well down on little trade with the offer moving far closer to the bid, leaving a spead narrower than normal.Anyone any idea why, as I can't find anything.
Re: Oil price no worry for FKL From the article on Rockhopper, I do like this bit, 'Importantly break even on a Falklands well is $35 a barrel due to the fiscal regime', just watch the sp if wells start coming in, especially if the oil price per barrel starts to go back up around the same time.
Re: Oil price no worry for FKL Guys I have done excellent article on sea lion which will help FKL future on the commercial issues.See article [link] or see authors click on chrisoil@chrisoil
Re: Major shareholding Good morning Ekati,go back to the RNS of 14 june 2012.Evrithing is explained and ,IMHO, very positive for the long term.Happy new year,G
Major shareholding Blackfish Capital Talisman Fund has now a 20,14% shareholding. I searched a bit and found it's a sort of hedgefund. That seems at first sight not compatible with the LT nature of FKL. Can anyone give some more info about them? Of course that fund will know the nature of FKL but how does that fix? Thanks.
