Heading for 20p? The share has taken a breather over the last few days falling back towards 15p which was the price of the last placing. Today we saw a strong move up and let's hope 20p is achieved this week. This company has an interesting mix of investments that it is very difficult to get exposure to in any other way. If just one of them takes off it will have a dramatic impact on the sp.

block chain from today's Guardian:The UK government is exploring using the blockchain technology that underpins the bitcoin currency to increase efficiency in the distribution of taypayers’ money such as grants, a minister said on Tuesday.A blockchain works as a decentralised ledger that is verified and shared by a network of computers, and can be used to record data as well as to secure and validate an exchange of assets, such as currencies or commodities.Banks and other financial institutions are increasingly investing in blockchain technology, reckoning it could cut their costs and make their operations faster and more transparent.The cabinet office minister Matt Hancock said the government was examining how the technology could be used to manage and keep track of the distribution of public money, such as grants and student loans, saying it could “foster a new culture of trust”.“The government cannot bury its head in the sand and ignore new technologies as they emerge,” Hancock, who holds the post of paymaster general, said a blockchain networking event in London.“That is partly what happened in the past in government with the web … We cannot let (that) happen again by standing still.”Britain has had a patchy record with government IT systems. Previous IT problems have hit the passport agency, the tax credit system and most notably the National Health Service which was forced in 2011 to announce the abandonment of a multibillion pound scheme to computerise every patient record.Hancock cautioned against getting too caught up in the hype. “Blockchain technology is not going to solve every problem; it’s not going to work in every context,” he said.It is still early days for blockchain: The original bitcoin blockchain was started just over seven years ago, and most financiers and technologists reckon the technology will not be adopted broadly for another five to 10. Many compare the current level of development to the early days of the internet.This year, the government’s chief scientific advisor urged the government to explore how it could use blockchain. The Bank of England has called it a “key technological innovation”, and has a team working on ways that it could be used, such as for issuing central bank money.

Re: the magic 20 Very good progress. As I thought, 20P was the significant price to break, and now the next barrier would look to be around the 25P mark. So much potential news from so many quarters. And still virtually unheard of.

the magic 20 So 20 has been in sight a few times in the last few months, but never broken through. Ongoing newsflow and the overall trend suggests to me that when it is broken, it will really be breaking bad.

Re: Momentum good to see momentum returning even though there is no esp. exciting news to generate it. 20P would appear to be well within reach over the next few days. Obviously still very early days and some of the investee businesses will turn out pretty lame. But there is a pretty good spread here and the names and contacts to make this a very big story. This company and property is about all I hold in assets nowadays.

Re: Momentum Momentum restored thanks to the Schoold app being acclaimed by Apple as one of the best new app's released this year for student use. Apple has a $20bn turnover for their app's but only a few are toted as "best". FFWD has a 9.1% stake in Schoold. Nice one.Casa.

Momentum The momentum has dropped and with it, the sp. Stocks like this need newsflow to stimulate interest. I have topped up and averaged down with a purchase at 14.9 which is just below the placement level. Casa.

Re: Placing Completed RNS Well I have bought a few FFWD recently but like you said, ICB, the lack of information on this board and my unfortunate lack of understanding of the business, particularly the "block chain" which I associate with bitcoin, I was unsure. I took a chance on the fact that Jim Mellon recommended it in Money Week so mostly my confidence was just that. At the moment it's just a story stock with no track record, however I can see that it is popular due to its momentum. It's also the fact that Jim is one of the founder members along with Steve Dattel also known as the dynamic duo according to some. China is certainly the place to be for investments.Casa.

Placing Completed RNS An RNS was put out after trading today to confirm completion of a placing that has raised £5.6 million.This BB has been very quiet with no posts since the end of October. This is surprising as there have been 26 RNS's since the last post. There are now 7 investments and there has been more than 1 fund raising. There has also been an impressive rise in the share price. The sp has fallen back in the last few days towards the placing price of 15p. Now the placing is complete and it was 3x oversubscribed we should see further gains next week. I suggest you read the latest RNS and indeed the other 25 to get a flavour of what this is all about.
