Re: RNS today Agree 100% HPC - will look in again in just under 3 months time and do some calculations based on assumptions.
RNS today Operational report today is mildly encouraging, but not enough to justify any significant new/extra investment in FDI...The position will be a lot clearer by the end of 2018, and the extra water will be beneficial even if the disruption of heavy rainfall was problematic over the last few months; certainly South Africa wanted the water after their summer drought.
Re: Ownership Yes HPC it's all about the quality, quantity and sale price.sale price has been nudging up.Quality and quantity have continued t disappoint up to February. As you say the deeper and more central parts of the igneous intrusion is where the cooling took longer and hence the diamonds should have grown to a larger size there. It would be a risky buy now on the hope of stronger numbers but in your position I would definitely hold now.If people stop selling and a few buyers come out on better news then we could see a 50% increase in short time - a lot of ifs though at the moment.
Re: Ownership Kalan, I agree that 6.0 to 6.5p an FDI share should be the bottom proving there are no disasters... they are mining some of the better areas now, the level of waste removal to initiate the roads around the kimberlite and remove surface covering is reducing and they have a "window" of opportunity over the next 18 months or so to start building up their cash in order to pay off the debt and balance the books.Clearly, they do need to find some bigger, better diamonds (as done historically) to really turn the company around; and it would help if diamond prices strengthen (and people start to buy real diamonds again instead of fancy, clear (like glass) "manufactured stones".I feel the next quarter's figures may put FDI in a better light, but it is probably wise not to top up until there is more positive news. This is note a share for a quick profit/loss, as the share price seems to trend upwards or downwards for many months at a time. This remains a HOLD for me... noting none of the major shareholders are selling down their holdings and diamond recovery is normally better with a little depth down the kimberlite, below any weathering and surface material dilution - where the pressures/temperatures would have been higher in formation of the kimberlite.Right now my focus is on FRR, STEL (merger with NWF), CHAR and ZIOC, whilst retaining my interests in GKP, NANO, VOG & FDI of course.
Ownership 55% aprox held by two companies and rising every time interest payment is due.Surprised they aren't making enough to even pay the interest let alone pay off any capital.Market cap about £30 million and debt $ 30 million - wonder if they will delist and pay shareholders off and give it all over to the creditors - the longer they wait though- the cheaper that seems to be able to do.
Re: share price On the plus side the descent appears to be slowing - I think 6p to 6.5p could see the bottom in.
share price Another Friday another low, its been like this for 10 months with no attempt by the company to support the share price. I think they need to explain themselves 85% down in 10 months I cant beleave major share holders would except this without an explanation
share price I believe the share price is being held lower than is justified every attempt to recover is crushed ,so someone is doing this, the reasoning is guess work as we have no information.
Big sell... why? 302,053 sold at 6.75p, a new low... why?Quite a few other big sells/buys of late too... some could be Bed & ISA or Bed & SIPP.Difficult to know the reasoning here - but the management must know the position form last two in-reported sales at least.
Re: Good time to trade... The chart is interesting HPC - the sp has bumped up against the 20 day moving average and the 20 day and 50 day are very close together - IF the sp can forge it's way above the 20 day and then take the 20 day up over the 50 day we may have a recovery play at hand. However, on the previous occasions we have been in this situation the sp sank to new low levels in no time at all.
Good time to trade... Looking at some of the trades today, not many, I think some are taking the opportunity (at the current low share price) to 'bed & ISA' or 'bed & SIPP' to reduce potential capital gains tax... showing a degree of confidence in FDI's long term future.
Buyers coming back... Diamond prices are starting to strengthen again... and there now seems to be recognition that the FDI share price shouldn't be lower than the 15p low point in 2016 before the mine was even completed for production to commence.Buying numbers are growing today (in size if not quantity of trades)... at prices still near 7p, well below the 10p placement and Open Offer price a couple of months ago.We just need some better diamond finds now we are mining one level down from the top which was heavily diluted with waste; and are now in the theoretically better areas of the Main Pipe...
Re: RNS The new Mine cost was $185million.The FDI share price is weakening on low volumes pending news - and none is expected until next quarterly report early in April unless there is something exceptional. The floor must be close now, for some increased buying pressure.Personally, I added 41,818 shares today (shown as a sell on III L2 though) into my FDI holding - at just 6.82p a share. Whether this will be deemed cheap or expensive, only time will tell - but at least my average price per share is lower now... but need >40p to be back in profit.A good turnaround needs better value and larger diamonds to be found regularly, and the price of rough diamonds to strengthen. All still possible...
Some significant trade over the past 2 days. Maybe some good news is on the way?
Re: RNS So just to clarify our MC is 44mil what did the mine cost to build again? Also the original target was to mine 1 mil carats pa and we have mined 380k diamonds ytd and we are half way through the year so the shortfall may not be that bad as they move into better areas.Whats it going to take to get the share price back into the 30s.CheersClem
