Re: Excellent first review of Jurassic World Good stuff. I'm very impatient for the ball to start rolling with Jurassic World Evolution.
Excellent first review of Jurassic World Very good review here of the "first look" at Jurassic World Evolution yesterday - "Frontier has created some incredible-looking dinosaurs".I like the idea of multiple islands - this really creates opportunities for lots of different storylines:[link] to film-quality standards and, in some cases, using actual assets from Jurassic World as a base Frontier has created some incredible-looking dinosaurs. They look how you'd expect them to, move how you'd expect them to, and, most impressively, they seem to behave like you'd expect them to.They were, by quite a stretch, the stars of today's show, those dinosaurs which was fortunate, given that they were pretty much all we saw.As one of the Frontier team said, these are still very early days for Evolution. There's quite a lot of development ahead, and quite a lot more things yet to be revealed but if they're of the same quality as what we saw today, then I reckon we could be in for a treat when the game finally hits shelves next summer.I can't wait to see more.Oh, and I couldn't help but notice that the developers made their entrance to the Jurassic Park theme, and then proceeded to talk about their love of the franchise having come from Jurassic Park, with Jurassic World being mentioned only in passing. Speaks volumes, eh?"
RNS : large director share buying Great to see an NED and his other half buying almost £220,000 of shares between them - half of them at 1335p.Most encouraging at this stage of FDEV's development:[link]

Re: Why the drop? GAW,closing prices, Friday 1971p, Monday 1904p, present price 1991p.someone playing games to trigger stop losses ?and now FDEV. be interesting to see what sp does tomorrow !Moon
Lots of news flow Amati VCT 2 published their interims last week, and had this to say about FDEV:[link] Developments ("Frontier", was the second most significant contributor to performance, gaining 135% over the period. Frontier is attracting a wider investor audience as it launches its own new video games franchises. The period under review witnessed the release of Frontier's original title, Elite: Dangerous, on PlayStation 4; the news that Planet Coaster, its second title, had surpassed the sale of one million units; and the announcement that its third franchise will be Jurassic World Evolution, based on Universal Pictures' Jurassic World, one of the biggest blockbusters in cinema history. The latter announcement is a major endorsement for a UK video games publisher and Frontier's appeal was recently recognised by Tencent, a leading Chinese internet and interactive entertainment company, which has acquired a 9.9% stake in the business through an investment of £17.7m in the company."FDEV's press release last week for the release of the PC Spooky Pack FYI:[link] Coasters spook-tacular Spooky Pack launches TODAYPublished on: Mon, 25/09/2017 - 127pmUnlock new rides and building options with the new theme content pack for Planet CoasterCambridge, UK. 25 September 2017. Liberum: Buy with 1250p target Looks like a sensible move today, appointing a CSO from Tencent as a new NED at FDEV - Tencent will now be that much more involved.Liberum today retain their Buy and 1250p target.
Re: Why the drop? I couldn't authoritatively say how the block listing works. However, even if that was the case they would only account for 1.6% of the shares so wouldn't explain the size of the fall. I still think it is just people cashing out and it'll settle at a point (hopefully already reached) where all holders are settled for the longer term potential.
Re: Why the drop? I am right in thinking when they issue more shares in block listing basically the pot gets diluted hence the price drop also there employees get 15% of profits so it's a good job for them
Re: Why the drop? I don't think there is any particular news to cause the current drop - only news is a director buying - so I think it is just one or more people cashing in on the recent big rises. I've held for some time now, through the recent 1350p peak, and will continue to hold (if it wasn't such a large percentage of my portfolio I would buy more!). The long term potential for this share is enormous in my opinion.
Re: Why the drop? I am new to investing I think it's the block listing of shares for there employees so some have sold them like a Christmas bonus for them anybody want to enlighten me on the subject
Why the drop? I have been tracking this with a view to investing but not right now for the obvious reasons.Something happened but it's not obvious (to me) from the 'news' what that is - broker downgrade?Molly
Re: A no brainer Flight sims are perfect for VR headsets (lots of looking around, not so much moving) and Elite Dangerous was one of the main AAA Oculus supported games when it was released.I don't think you'll see space-dock real advertising anytime soon. The community would NOT like that at all, considering that the galaxy time is year 3303 at the moment none of the adverts would be relevant to that time and would be immersion breaking (perhaps Coke maybe?!).They do have a 10 year plan for ED and a annual subscription based model which seems to be doing quite well. They've also got other games, Planet Coaster and of course the newly announced Jurassic World IP. Link all these games together and suddenly you've got a massive sim, all powered by Frontier's own engine.Good times ahead.
Re: A no brainer Yup, agreesad to say had the BBC version in 198? and the PC version in 199?.....Into Frontier at £2 with follow-on purchases once I noticed them. Agree the market cap seemed low on analysis of users, but boy they've invested the cash in production / tooling ....Occulus recent offer caught my attention and be interesting to see if 3D gaming technology becomes popular/profitable for Frontier....Brabben been in games along time and the trick is to keep the product fresh and interesting and build the user base......I'm waiting for the space-dock real advertising and added value player services to kick-in and monitise the user base..... Google have to buy Frontier for $3bn then?A, a happy shareholder and nice to see value left in post IPO
