Another one bites the dust Air Berlin filing for bankruptcy. Good news for rivals like Easyjet.
Re: Q3 Statement Don't no why or how this share shot up so fast after last divi results as nothing extra new happened a few more bums on seat oil still relatively low not any extra profit but from £9plus to over £ 14 is excessive in a couple of months. if it stays around £12.50 it is about right .still the best performance in my portfolio bought for the divi at £10.30 .still holding imho
Re: Q3 Statement Roger,Low profit margin makes sense of fall. If turnover falls even a modest amount they will be making a loss.Looks like I bought into a dud at exactly wrong time, pre BREXIT vote. Pre-tax profit forcast to fall 27.6% and Norm EPS growth -21%. Dividend growth forecast -31.6%. Hoping things will improve but SP -3% already this morning.
Re: Q3 Statement It's because they are forecasting yet another reduction in profits. They make about an 8% pre tax margin compared with Ryanair's 22%.....!
Re: Q3 Statement I 'topped up' £5000 at £13:40 - it'll be up tomorrow
Q3 Statement Report looked quite good to me. Did not notice any significant negative bits. Looks like I'm missing something as SP fallen sharply this morning, getting on for -5%. Views anyone?Summary from CSS Investments:"easyJet has reported a strong trading and operational performance in its third quarter and announced the award of its European Air Operator Certificate in Austria. Passengers carried increased by 10.8% to 22.3 million, driven by an increase in capacity of 9.5% to 24.0 million seats and load factor increasing by 1.1 percentage points to 93.1%. Total revenue per seat increased by 2.2% at constant currency, ahead of guidance and increased by 5.9% on a reported basis to £57.78 per seat. Total revenue in the quarter increased by 16.0% to £1,387 million, with a significant benefit from the move of Easter to April, higher load factors, as well as an improving underlying trend in the trading environment. It said: "Ongoing enhancements to our customer proposition and other revenue initiatives helped to stimulate bookings and build revenue momentum throughout the period." easyJet said it delivered strong cost control as headline cost per seat including fuel improved by 5.5% at constant currency, due to low fuel prices and a strong underlying cost focus."

Re: Carolyn McCall leaving. She has done a fantastic job and will be leaving EZJ, at the end of the year, in far better condition than when she inherited it. There are very few, if any, CEO's that were so hands on with our customers - when flying she would usually walk the cabin with a rubbish bag collecting waste and talking with customers. Our loss will be ITV's gain, and I wish her every success - but it's still a sad day
Carolyn McCall leaving. To take over as CEO ITV.RNS . Market response - 2.5% @ 8.10 am
OOph A bit of a relief both as a shareholder and a frequent customer living in France:[link]
Andrew Findlay buys 115 shares I topped up with 144 shares on 30th May..... wheres my RNS
Re: Got nervous! A nice profit 5iron!Just wish I had started buying more sooner, been watching them from £9.70 + but only gained confidence to invest in more from £11.00 up. Been stung too often but today actually back in profit with Easyjet. Will be holding onto them, divi is good to have and better than any interest rates I can find.B_B
Got nervous! Took half my EZJ holdings off the table in the lead up to election. Theresa is giving too much ammunition to the coalition that it may be very close run. If she doesn't get in I can see a massive sell off so wanted some cash on the table for some bargains.Anyway great profit from buying a couple of batches back in February at £9.40. My remaining shares have now cost me just £4.93 each!
Re: price drop Gladreemer, my mistake. Aircraft identification obviously not my strong point. Here's me thinking for years Ryanair were being slick taking larger capacity Neo's to keep ahead of Easyjet!!Good job I don't work for the RAF........I'd be shooting down friendlies!!!B_B (added more)
