Re: Competition I'm in favour of Easyjet too. I travel on average six or seven times a year and have done so for the last seven years always with Easyjet. Never an option to look elsewhere for the routes I fly. (North to Southwest or North to Spain, Italy.)That's the main reason I bought into easyjet, think they have the business model spot on!!B_B,

Re: Competition i fly easyjet more that 8 times a year to Lisbon. Its a basic service but for prices like 50quid return I wouldnt look elsewhere I think the business is about having the routes and keeping costs low.

Re: Competition On a positive note - I fly Easyjet several times per month, and have to say I rate them very highly.Their service is way above BA these days. Having to pay for a drink/food is a small thing on short haul , and dubious quality of the "free" food on other airlines is nothing to miss.

Re: Costs Good question Steve.....Apparently it's " a directrix is a curve associated with a process generating a geometric object,".Yes, - I'm none the wiser.

Re: Costs that's wot a directrix is sposed to do

Costs I can tell you, from first hand experience, that EZJ are looking very closely at staff costs and reviewing where savings can be made.

Re: Competition Luton airport is undergoing massive £110m change/transformation, which whilst in progress makes it a real headache to use. [link] issue I have whilst the transformation take place is with the short term parking/drop off area up at the terminal. In summary don't use it! Use mid term and catch a shuttle bus. However, once complete I can see it being a great little airport with the tram service to the main train station and a far bigger terminal. Another thought/area of note - I flew BA last week and they have removed all free food/drink from standard class (now it's all M&S), meaning you have to now pay like other budget airlines. One less reason to fly BA..

Re: Competition Hmmmm..... interesting point of view Baker. I've flown from Luton many times (first in 1972 !) without the probems you mentioned. . . . Unlucky ???

Beaufort Securities' View Our view: Buy! easyJet delivered a Q1 performance in line with guidance. Strong revenue growth boosted by currency movements, while passenger numbers expanded despite the negative impact from the Berlin Christmas market attack in December. Looking ahead, the Group warned that the weakness of Sterling is expected to impact easyJet's full year pre-tax profit by around £105m. Combined with fuel, this is £35m worse than previously expected, which resulted shares falling sharply yesterday. Subject to normal levels of disruption, the Group reiterated that it planned to grow seat capacity by up to +9% in the FY2017, while it remains targeting a -3% decline in total cost per seat at constant currency including fuel for the full year and a +1% increase in cost per seat excluding fuel at constant foreign exchange rate. The Group said it remain committed to flat cost per seat excluding fuel at constant currency in the FY2019 against FY2015. Revenue per seat for the H1 is expected to decline by “high single digits”, within the range of previous guidance, due to the timing of Easter and the Berlin attack. Adjusting for this, underlying revenue per seat decline is expected to improve in the Q2 compared to the Q1, supported by a strong demand across all European markets. Considering the successful lean cost programme, strong forward booking (c.56% of expected bookings in Q2 has now been secured), and strong balance sheet, Beaufort retains its Buy rating on the shares based on a FY2017E earnings multiple of 11.4x and 4.4% yield, while keeping one careful eye on the oil price and economic/political uncertainties."

Re: Competition I pity you if you have to fly from Luton. Nightmare. Many third world airports are better.Takes longer to get through Luton airport imigration than it takes to fly from Europe in the first place...Then good luck getting a bus to the waste ground they call a car park. The good luck getting your car out of the car park - the last ( and last time ever) I used it, the barriers go stuck down - an extra 30 minutes to the 1.30 it took to get through imigration and get to the car....

Re: Competition Yes but how long can they hold those prices and still make a decent profit or run out of cash.

Re: Competition I think this applies only to some (very few) select routes these airlines do. Because I just checked two southern EU capitals and Easyjet is better.
