ITV Plc is pursuing a takeover [link]
Looking very cheap on P/E of 7 now The consensus figures per Hemscott for this year are 19.14p EPS (with a 1.29p divi), and 22.75p EPS next year (with a 1.38p divi).Which makes ETO very, very good value imo. Even before any currency benefit.News of another new-ish ETO kids property starting to thrive:[link] Winston Steinburger sells into IberiaClan TVE in Spain and BIGGS in Portugal have acquired the first season of Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong.Elizabeth FosterJune 20, 2016Entertainment One (eOne) has sold its new 2D-animated comedy series Winston Steinburger and Sir Dudley Ding Dong.Clan TVE in Spain and pay-TV network BIGGS in Portugal have both acquired the first series of the show, and the latter will begin airing Winston Steinburger this fall.Aimed at kids ages six to 12, the 52 x 11-minute series follows the hijinks of Winston Steinburger and his feline best friend, Sir Dudley. Re: Shares Mag today say they're I managed to get hold of the entire Shares Mag article:"EOnes new Peppa pushTHE BENEFITS OF gaining a controlling stake in the Peppa Pig brand are starting to be realised by Entertainment One (ETO), claims chief financial officer Giles Willits.Last year the FTSE 250 constituent bought 70% of Peppas creator Astley Baker Davies, thereby increasing its stake in the Peppa brand rights from 50% to 85%. It did this to enable faster brand commercialisation decisions and avoid having to put ideas to a committee.Willits says a lot of conversations have now been initiated on potential branding opportunities, adding that many wouldnt have been possible before it took a controlling stake. He refuses to disclose further details but pointsout that the company previously expressed a desire to make a Peppa Pig film. We wouldnt be surprised to see additional Peppa theme parks on the back of the Paultons Park joint venture success near Southampton.Full year results (24 May) showed an improvement in free cash flow and a reduction in net debt addressing two previous market concerns. We remain big fans at 177.8p."
Shares Mag today say they're "big fans" Shares Mag today say they're "big fans" of ETO in a review of the results, noting the improved free cash flow and reduction in debt.In particular, there's an interview with the CEO where he notes that the acquisition of the larger stake in Peppa has been transformative. ETO can now enable faster brand commercialisation with many new branding opportunity conversations initiated. There are also hints at a Peppa Pig film, and also perhaps additional Peppa theme parks to follow the Paultons Park success.
Good results today considering... Pretty decent considering (a) the down year for the Film division, and (b) the share price, which has factored in the worst.19.4p adjusted EPS is right at the top of expectations, which range from 18.2p to 19.5p.The outlook seems very positive, still aiming at doubling the size of the business.Free cash flows increased nicely for the year, and overall net debt was £44m less at the year end, with all the rights issue monies being used on acquisitions etc. With Film looking much better this year, and Family and TV continuing to thrive, perhaps we can now see a route back to a 250p-300p share price.

RNS : results on 24th May We can read today's RNS as encouraging, since if anything was awry for the full year then ETO would have had to say so.We can therefore imply that the nicely in line trading talked about in the 9 month update on 2nd March has continued into the year end:[link]
Re: Bid rumour Wow only bought these last week. Should I sell on the rumour or hold?
Bid rumour Rumours suggest ITV has held discussions with ETO.Interesting that this mornings RNS says no approach has been made and not no talks have occurred. This suggests to me that the rumour is true.Hopefully it may flush out some other interested party.LFG
Excellent prospects for ETO this H1 ETO's Eye In The Sky has got superb reviews and is doing well in the Americas with $10.4m to date. It's released here this Friday. Good to see Helen Mirren doing her bit to promote it on the talk shows too. And as the great Alan Rickman's last film before his death it will get added publicity. The Ricky Gervais/David Brent film is also out this H1, and the newly released trailer's pretty good. With ETO as distributor for Spielberg's The BFG this summer it could be a terrific H1 this year. The Lumineers new album Cleopatra is released today. Their 1st album sold 2.5m copies and 10m singles Eone music purchased Dueltone records earlier this year.Interesting to see last Friday's rise put down to the release of the Brent film trailer...[link] "Entertainment One (Other OTC: ENTMF - news) was also on the up, a day after the first trailer for its Ricky Gervais movie was released to the masses. David Brent: Life on the Road is a spin-off from the popular BBC comedy series The Office, and stars Gervais as a Slough-based cleaning products distributor called Lavichem, trying to make his way towards a career as a singer-songwriter. Entertainment One holds the non-US distribution rights to the film, which will be released in the UK on 19 August."
