Re: 10% fall Comment from Motley Fool at [link] knee-jerk reaction of the market seems to be a response to the possibility that Marwyn could decide to sell more shares, creating a stock overhang and short-term weakness in the price."However, none of this detracts from Entertainment One's long-term prospects, and I see the stock as good value after today's drop. The company trades on a current-year forecast price-to-earnings ratio of 13.5, falling to 11.7 next year on the back of forecast mid-teens earnings growth. As such, now looks to me like an opportune time to buy."Of course the 10% hurts for existing shareholders, but would be better: Marwyn to sell one-third of their holding in a lump, whilst making clear their continued commitment to ETO, or for Marwyn to sell gradually over several weeks or months, which would be a continual drag on the market and sentiment? I think the one-hit approach is probably much better, rather than a steady drip-drip of sales that leave the rest of us wondering who's selling and what do they know that we don't?
Re: 10% fall Thanks. Think will hold and see what happens.
NEW ARTICLE: Entertainment One a buy after hedgie Marwyn sells? "LSE:ETO:Entertainment One has been one of the stockmarket's star performers this year. Its shares had risen as much as 41% since January and have almost quadrupled since floating on AIM eight years ago. It is little surprise then that activist ..."[link]
Re: 10% fall Delighted the spivs have allowed me to get some more below the placing price.9% of the company sold (to someone who is not planning to lose on the deal, of course) and 10% wiped of total Mcap - couldn't make it up.Target 400p.mim
Re: 10% fall fall in price is not warranted - MVI selling some of their stake is positive news and price will recover in next few weeks
Re: 10% fall Just read RNS properly now, and they sold out at 330p. So current price suggests many are spooked as no one turning a quick profit yet.
Re: 10% fall I should also say I've been buying this morning. Once the overhang clears I see price returning to previous levels. Unless they know something we don't, which would be illegal and insider dealing.I guess the biggest negative is that they held a great stake for someone who wanted to bid for the company. Clearly them selling suggests they think this is unlikely.Lee
Re: 10% fall Big institution selling which holds nearly 29% is selling 9% via a book building process last night. Not sure why the big fall, could be 2 reasons.1. People spooked by them selling as they had a director on board prior to announcement. They are also well respected and followed.2. They sold low enough to enable buyers to sell in market and make quick profit. However this would mean they sold lower than where we are now. I'd be surprised if that was the case, but it's not been disclosed. They have agreed to not sell anymore for minimum 3 months.Lee
