Re: Brokers saying buy MJS,Also the former CFO Matthew Gregory (now with FirstGroup) was another exec director who was selling pretty heavily before he left in 2015. Not a good sign, my humble.LKH on the flybridge
Re: Brokers saying buy MJS,"Numis are suggesting 785p and Deutsche Bank 860p."Hmmmm. I'd be more influenced by the fact that the CEO sold more than £5 million worth of shares early last year. I wonder if he was a bit frit by the amount of debt that ESNT was taking on for Clondalkin? He has since reinvested some of his divis in new shares, but £5 million .... that doesn't say much about his confidence in the company.I shall sit on the fence and watch developments.LKH on the flybridge I'd like to be invested here but .....
Brokers saying buy Just noticed that today Numis are suggesting 785p and Deutsche Bank 860p.See [link] sold out a couple of weeks back, so didn't suffer the drop yesterday, but was tempted at 600p to buying back in. Now down 8% as I type this so a rise would be appreciated, but a bad day generally I suppose.GLTAMJS
Re: Ouch! - 613p offered Ouch indeed.I sold up first thing at ~650p.At first glance the drop to sub 6 quid looks a bit overdone, but I'll let the dust settle on this for a whil
Re: Long opportunity Too much buying of businesses all over the world at too higher price with largely borrowed money.Dire balance sheet, all net assets consist of purchased goodwill.Big loans.Lack of management control/ability.Dividend cuts & fund raising surely on the cards. As for the institutions investing other peoples money. They are stuck with the shares;still their fund management fees should continue to pay the mortgage......
Re: Long opportunity This share is held by big institutions like Fidelity, Standard Life and Blackrock. Provided they still believe the growth story then the shares are likely to recover some of their losses. The volume in the shares today of just over 1% of the shares in issue is not massive and it won't take much institutional buying to lift the shares back to £7. If you look at the chart, this share can move quickly in either direction. No doubt there will be a series of meetings with investors over the next few days to reassure them that this is just a minor blip and a good buying opportunity.
Re: Long opportunity Price got to 568. Unfortunately I was out and not able to take advantage of the trade at 579 which was a 15 min trend reversal (123 low etc). I'll leave this and clear out the limit buy. Maybe next time!!In theory this could bounce to 630-650, but I'm not taking the risk of entering late. Normally after the bounce they fall again.
Long opportunity Around 540-560. I have a limit buy at 560 for a bounce.[link]
Re: Ouch! - 613p offered Yertiz, I'm always too early. Big question is whether the Clondalkin acquisition was a mistake. It certainly pushed borrowings up and maybe the rationalisation plan was too ambitious. On the other hand if it can still be regarded as a good deal then these shares could bounce back to £7ish very quickly. Mind you those investors who bought at £10 will be feeling very sore.
Re: Ouch! - 613p offered I will be joining you on the way out of this share. Should have sold at £10.
Re: Ouch! - 613p offered Profit warnings come in threes, you should have waited. I'm now nursing a 35% hit overall on this 'dog'. Any recovery today will see me out.
Re: Ouch! - 613p offered Well I've bought a few on the way down. Let's hope the conference call isn't all doom and gloom.
Ouch! Sympathies are with holders. That is a short sharp shock of a trading statement. Anyway it will be a buying opportunity for long-term holders.
Re: Results tomorrow : Oversold ? I couldn't understand why the sp has risen the last few days and then see Numis has tipped us for something north of a tenner. Maybe the tone at the AGM was positive ?
Results tomorrow : Oversold ? Can't lie, the sp performance over the last nine months or so has been disappointing, and I wish I'd had the foresight to take some profits when it was above £10, but that's in the past. But now, if the results tomorrow and, probably more importantly, the outlook beyond havn't deteriorated, we're looking pretty good value. Forecast eps for the year just gone and the current year are ~47 and 54p respectively, which would mean double digit growth of a gnat's whisker under 15%, so I've bought a few this week in the hope that we'll see a sp of £9 plus sometime this year.
