Re: Bid by Apple Is there any further information? The sp is improving to its recent better value.
Bid by Apple Does anyone have any further information on this rumour?
Re: Quietest board Tongue in cheek reply. Yes management is appalling, and the accounts are rubbish (if you can find them), but I look at PFC, CLLN, HUR, PMO etc etc in the UK and realise that the stock market in general is a lottery. Share prices stay up as long as every one is fooled (Tesla on the US market). The price collapses when everyone realises they have been done (Teva, again on the US market). Even when you 'think' you know what is going on, you do not (as PFC and CLLN showed clearly). Even when a company apparently has huge resources at its disposal, it has no control over them (as Acacia Mining has shown) or the resources are entirely unappreciated by the market (as PMO and HUR has shown). At least, Eros is not being investigated in the UK by the SFO (yet....) - most other companies and banks seem to be/have been (I hear both BAT and RIO have joined the club and are now under investigation....). Hardly a reason to invest in the company but....
Re: Quietest board That was a year ago! (2016)The management is totally pathetic and useless. On one hand they announce their big releases earning hundreds of millions of dollars and on the other hand the private investors keep getting mistreated.
Re: Quietest board I'm afraid $13.5 to $8 is not really stabilising. The board is quiet because no one has any idea whatsoever what is going on......
Quietest board Eros appears stabilised. Is anyone here??
On the recovery path Good to see Eros share price recovering well after the alpha episode. Hopefully, it will keep up similar momentum. Any comments about the prospects by fellow posters?
Re: Eros - BajiRao Mastani gross Just checked Bajirao gross income- its actually $52million. Thats just one film's earning in 4-6 weeks. Why is the total capital of EROS plc a mere $400m? Come on BOD, some honest answers please.
Re: Eros "Their films appear very professional." Which is more than can be said for the Board. If they clean up their act and manage to avoid litigation then it looks like a nice business to be in and should be a long-term hold, but I'm out for now and will be watching. The bonds have a high YTM (>25%?) which says something.R599.
Re: Eros I agree with you regarding the success of their films. The most recent release Bajirao Mastani which came out in December has grossed $6.5m to date. How they translate the gross to free cash flow is the over riding argument of Seeking Alpha. With regards are the BOD doing a good job? They have the opportunity to address these issues over the next couple of months and to communicate this well to the financial analysts with their YE report. Their films appear very professional. For example their latest release is apparently one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time! The movie had also received twelve nominations at the 61st Filmfare Awards, and won nine awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. The share price is being beaten up and there is also the general market volatility which will hit companies harder in the emerging markets even with a NYSE listing. I am a long term holder of the bonds and I do believe that the stock price will improve over time. General broker consensus is $20. A dividend would help sentiment and they have the ability to introduce one at some point but I do not suppose anytime soon. It appears growth is why people have bought in and hopefully if the noise settles around this and the profits translate to cash flow it will rerate. Here's hoping.
Re: Eros Thank you for an educative message. Good luck with your bonds. My very novice thoughts: Market capitalisation of NYSE traded shares is a mere $430 m.Many of the films produced by Eros have been great in the box office, earning huge sums of money. In addition, they have collaborated with few MNCs to promote their products and Eros now. Its a shame that an entertainment company with such diverse portfolios with international exposure is doing so poorly in NYSE. Has it been an American firm with a fraction of Eros's business, it would be a multi bagger. Are the BOD doing their job adequately? Why isn't the company distributing any dividend?
Re: Eros I am disappointed with the performance of the bond but I always intended to hold to maturity for the yield and therefore my main concern was risk of default. I tracked the stock since 2011 when it was around 227p on AIM. If I held the stock I would be very disappointed with its negative trajectory and much of this has to do with the cack handed way the NYSE listing was handled and the poor market response it received which I believe weakened sentiment even before the damaging negative reviews. Going back to to your argument regarding heightened scrutiny under the NYSE as opposed to AIM in my opinion it doesn't change the fundamentals. The information provided by the board is either correct or incorrect. If we were on AIM or the NYSE it would come out in the wash.I bought the bonds because of the space EROS operates in ironically to diversify my overall risk and I still believe that it will be successful into the medium term and therefore I will hold. As for the stock, if results pan out it will be rerated but this could be some time in the making. Good luck with your holding.
Re: Eros Hello, That brings up the question, again: was it a correct move to 'migrate' to New York from London? Didn't the BOD was not aware of the pitfalls they would face at NYSE?Is the company willing to share any of its profits, declared in the last statement, with the share holders? perhaps, that might help to bring some confidence back. The company has declared 'mega' millions profit in the last quarterly statement. But, what is use to the share holders, if there no dividend paid? Mere statements blaming the shorters for the fall in the sp hasn't done much. It was a catastrophic fall in the sp which is yet to show any improvement. The BOD needs to do more.
Any one here? This board has gone silent following the alpha incident. The company has tried to reassure the shareholders with an initial clarification followed by good looking set of results. Has anybody got opinions about Eros's prospects? Is the company really making profits? If so, how much of that profit is attributable to its nyse listed share capital? Couple of their film productions have been highly successful with earnings as per the media reports.
True or false? If the Board are committing fraud they are ballsing it out with these latest figures! However if they are playing the fraud game, the Board were foolish to move to Nasdaq and enter the American Legal world! Really tough one to call but something does smell!
