From Citywire "ElectrocomponentsMajedie's Citywire AAA-rated UK equity team has upped its stake in specialist distribution business Electrocomponents PLC (ECM) after a year in which it has given up almost a third of its price.The team increased its exposure to the company from 21.72 million shares to 22.07 million or 5.02% worth £45.4 million at a share price of 206p, off from a peak above 300p in May.A range of Majedie funds managed by Christopher Field, Richard Staveley, James De Uphaugh and Matthew Smith – all AAA-rated by Citywire – hold the stock.Shares in Electrocomponents plunged in July as it revealed a fall in its profit margins and have continued to slide since. A second big peak in selling activity followed in mid-November after it revealed chief executive of 20-years Ian Mason would step down at the end of this year.Over the six months to September the company reported profit before tax down 16% to £37 million despite underlying sales growth of 3%, and earnings per share down 15% to 6.1p."
