So DX is turning around, still Looking to invest

So DX is turning around, still So now the market has woken up, some determined buying today has pushed the sp along to 12p. Doesn’t sound a lot but we were at 9p a couple of months ago. More please.

So DX is turning around, still The previous update on 4 Feb pointed to a return to profit, but not in H1. Which was good in today’s announcement considering how bad things were before … 7% revenue growth, debt almost eradicated to £3.5M, new management efforts producing an improvement to cost and operational performance. But as at half time there was still a trading loss of about £5M. Is it possible that the previous announcement signalled an inflexion point, eg the trading position turned from loss making to profitable towards the end of 2018. On which basis it forecast a return to profit ahead of time … maybe a profitable H2 but only wiping out the H1 loss? In which case we have seen the bottom of the share price journey. A modest response from the market so far, not much interest but I hope that will change and the sp surely has to kick on from here. Beginning to feel pleased I hung on, every penny brings a welcome recovery in my sorry looking speculative portfolio.

Some good news at last More mind boggling nonsense this morning, I have searched through all the share price feed sites I can think of and they are in disarray for this stock. Even Morningstar up the spout, showing no trades since early yesterday morning not even the one at 9.75. Sites showing a spread of 8.02 - 9.86 makes no sense except it seems to confirm none of these respected information sources has a clue what is really going on. So I tested a trade on my platform, you can buy DX. for 9.86 or you can sell it for 8.93 … that in itself is an absurd spread, and no reflection of recently recorded trades … or you can just wait out until this garbage hopefully sorts itself. It seems I am going to have an angry day, started badly when I missed the bin man. Aaaaaaagh!

Some good news at last eh … not sure why this is shown on lse and hl platforms with a closing Bid/Sell price of just 8.06p when it traded in the range 9.25-9.80 with the last trade showing as a 9.75p Buy. Maybe someone with fat fingers? Should be showing up 3% today on a mid price basis. If it reopens tomorrow at 10p it will be top of the stocks setting Buy alarms off.

Some good news at last In a pre-close trading update ahead of H1 interims to be reported in March, a glimmer that DX has put a horrible couple of years behind it … “The Group continues to make encouraging progress with its turnaround and trading in the period has been in line with management expectations. DX is in a good position to drive further improvements and remains on track to return to positive EBITDA for the financial year.” Well done the new management team, I did not realise that expectations had been for a retunr to profit this, the market and sp does not price that in at 9p. I have added a small chunk this morning in the hope DX sp will begin the long haul back to recovering its value … 20p or 100p? That would be quite a reward for those of us holding our breath fingers-crossed for so long. Any hint of a dividend or a suitor and this might twang, but then that is hopeful speculation.

Re: Holding out Good for you apart from the 33p bit.Compare with Marlborough Special Situations the monster small cap fund who have clung on all the way down from 100p. I wonder if they are behind this buying spree, quoted in the weekend Torygraph as having confidence in the turnaround ... and maybe buying the way up rather than just holding on.Is that an option for you, before the price recovers much further, or is an add a risk too far?My average price is a lot lower than yours and it is brave to increase your exposure to a struggler, but the effect of even a small slice at 11p would be pretty powerful. What persuaded me today to add a few, apart from the strong buying, was the thought that a renewed dividend of say 1p within the next 12 months would mean a forward yield of 9% ... and that is why we are holding isn't it, a recovery to paying dividends again? The fact that this is AIM listed and so excluded from IHT if held for 2 years under current rules is a bonus. I will have DX in mind tomorrow for another add unless an even choicer bargain crops up, with the last of my ISA cash and the offload of a turgid low yielder retail stock perhaps.

Holding out Beginning to think the failed Menzies tie up may not be such a bad thing. Gatemore may have been right after all. In twice over the last couple of years average SP around 33p (ouch) but holding out for further recovery which is beginning to look quite possible.

Me too added a small slice in case this is going somewhere

Re: Further determined buying agreed that was my reaction but we are now into the third day of it, someone has picked up maybe 3-4 million shares in total which is still hardly strategic but is a sizeable stake for someone like a small cap or special situations fund.

Re: Further determined buying 100,000 at a time.. which equates to £10,000, the company is worth 18 million.hardly stake building

marktime1231 10 Apr 2018

Further determined buying high volumes again and still going this afternoon, someone buying up a series on the open market 100,000 at a time. The sp responding with another +1p. If this is a new stakebuilder they will have to declare an accumulated position soon or could it be Gatemore increasing its already dominant holding backing its belief in the turnaround potential of the business?Other logistics stocks also improving to a lesser extent. Could the outlook for consolidation in the sector be the reason? Or are we just bouncing back from a really gloomy patch and DX getting attention from a specialist who invests in recovery situations?Still not complaining

Re: Rise today Some pretty determined buying activity overnight / this morning but no news I can see to explain why. If it was the new CFO buying in we would have had an RNS?If there are material events affecting outlook the business is obliged to tell the market. In the absence of any notice we can assume it is speculative buying or stakebuilding, a vote of confidence, but even 1 million shares at just 10p is unlikely to be institutional interest. Was it tipped anywhere over the weekend perhaps? Not complaining.

Re: rise today May be because it is mentioned by Marlboro@ Spec Sits managers in Daily Telegraph as their most disastrous investment but still held because "new management could transform the company"
