The reason... Can anyone remind me why I bought this stock?I can't recall the rationale - I must have been high on something at the time.Is the company really going to switch from low profit margins to high?Is it's debt suddenly going to become manageable in time as it's pretty gargantuan at present? Are sausages going to go out of fashion with the new health food craze, or are the Chinese going to start chopping them up and call it sausage rice in the same way we have sausage pasta from our Italian neighbours?Struggling to remember why I risked just under 1% of my wad on this.Games - Is it taking on a munter status or a recovery stock extraordinaire?
Good Solid Bounce Today After a good rise yeserday there seems to be a one way street of buys at the moment - now 204.75-205.75p.Has DVO been rerated by Mr Market? The B
AGM Trading Update "Trading for the period was in line with the Board's expectations, with total sales volumes ahead of the equivalent period last year. The Devro 100 programme continues to progress well, with actions on track to deliver the anticipated cost savings for the year. The Board's expectations for 2017 remain unchanged"Sounds good to me. Increased volumes is a re-assuring but does not tell one much about how significantly higher the volumes are. Now we can see why Neptune kept dipping into the water ad topping up with more shares.I am fairly well topped up now having bought loads around the 175p a share mark, but will add a few more if it goes back to the level again. The B

Re: Neptunes hikes stake again ... "ValueAct, Elliott? Are you out there?"LK - Why don't you ask Woody if he will add it into his Patient Capital Truss? That's should put paid to it.Games - Oh my aching back!!
Neptunes hikes stake again ... ... above 16%.What we need now is some nice American activist to clamber on board and demand some action.ValueAct, Elliott? Are you out there?LKH on the flybridge
Re: Neptune Neptune adding gain:-23,717,162 to 25,202,675 shares now 15.1%A big shareholder adding lots more shares surely must be a good sign. The B
Buying In Again I noticed that the price of DVO had fallen back after my earlier sales. I have progressively been adding back and have noticed an odd phenomena that very often, as soon as I have made a purchase, there seems to be an almost instantaneous series of buys appearing. I can only conclude that the automatic trading systems are very wary of purchases and the potential increase in share price?Although the threat of more trade sanctions against Russia is not in DVO's best interests, I consider that DVO's trade with Russia is really a shadow of its former self and not a particularly serious threat for DVO's current sales. More importantly, there is an AGM coming up that might have some positive news on trading - I am assuming that an awful lot of bad news is already priced into the share - so anything positive will be good for the share price. The BuzzThe B
Re: Where's DVO going from here? I been selling a load of DVO lately to register a capital loss to put against some large capital gains that would otherwise make Mr Tax man very happy. Of course DVO went ex-div today - 6.1p so that is one reason for today's fall. If the price falls further I will be buying back (into another account). The B
Re: Where's DVO going from here? Paul and TD,280p still possible but last week 180p looked more likely than 280p so sold at 195p I have no immediate plans to go back in, have also sold CVR, VOD, BTG and got a couple more on the cull list. I have put about half of the money into Vietnam (VOF). I am 2/3 way through The Retreat of Globalisation (Gervais Williams) which may be clouding my judgement. From here 140p is more likely than 180p and 280p is still possible but only with 140p out of the way, yes I expect sp to fall below140p before it can regain 280p.Now on my ""watch with interest list, good luck the pair of you, speak again at 140p.Regards,Seadoc
Re: Where's DVO going from here? I sold out on all of mine when you did, my limitnorder just bought it all back again today for me... what is with the falling SP?
Annual Report [link] good read. The bit about debt reduction by the FD caught my eye:-"Going forward, the continued strong underlying cash generation from the business, combined with lower cash requirements for capital expenditure and exceptional items, will enable further reduction in net debt."ie The debt is expected to start to reduce soon.Sad to see a fatality occurred at the Czech plant in March 2016. Not too impressed with the assessment of risks to business - did not spot anything along the lines that products might fail to work - eg South American sausages did not work with the replacement casings due to the harsh treatment that they receive. However, overall it gave a fairly upbeat expectation that things will come good. I wait for some evidence in future reporting! The B
Re: Where's DVO going from here? T-D,"Where go" - maybe 280p? Looking to sell, and will sell out at that price, might sell on the way, rely on MACD etc but it looking like going up for a bit yet.Seadoc
Where's DVO going from here? Sold two tranches on late Friday. Wanted to lock in some profit but think it may have been a bad move. Hope the crystal ball doesn't let me down again.
Re: Large Delayed Trade Hi BB,A really good day from Mr Market today. Sounds like the 500k was an overhang holding the price back. Can we now look forward to going over £2 again? It's a bit crazy when the price bounces around so much. On the 6th after the results came out I bought at 185p and 177p and now they are around 198p! I am hoping that in about a year's time the cost savings will be seen to be working through and that the share price approaches £3. In the mean time I will enjoy the juicy dividend. The B
