Re: £2 Million for Digital and Pro... Valid points as always TX2.I think Dignity have been looking very very closely at their main competitor behind the scenes and off a detailed SWOT analysis. The Coop incidentally does the reverse and it is a national brand under the umbrella of Cooperative Funeral Services. There would be completely nothing wrong with keeping the independent branding of funeral parlours to retain local identity but the business could be enhanced greatly by a more corporate branding and marketing strategy across the top of all this and with this then generating "Dignity" generated leads to feed the parlours business. The £2 Million set aside is encouraging for they are recognising that this is an area for key development. I can't disagree if they aren't even on the front page of a google search with the keyword "funeral".I also hold the view that quite a few of these initiatives could have been done inhouse and without a 50% hit to the share price. I would not be surprised in the slightest if the 2 wives replenish their holdings.Own due diligence.
Re: £2 Million for Digital and Pro... Non-existent is slightly harsh for Dignity have a website. To maximise their online presence and get maximum exposure and publicity they need to be looking at SEO - Search Engine Optimisation and additionally "key adwords". This is about getting your website onto Page 1 and near the top and noticed, to drive more more website traffic and all done through your website returning off key word searches. Then turning that traffic into business. Its an easy fix for one or two of a few such companies that are out there. The testimonials or track records normally show what they can do.[link] the answer to everything market share wise but a start and £2 Million is a healthy budget. Well worth watching on the marketing and advertising side for developments.Own due diligence
Re: £2 Million for Digital and Pro... Dignity continue to trade in each location under the individual business names of the businesses they have acquired, several hundred different, rather than using the corporate name.I doubt if many clients of these firms are generally aware of the corporate brand/company who is the ultimate owner although it is clearly shown on information made available. The problem they have is to change to the corporate name they could lose the valuable goodwill & reputation these businesses have built up in their area not to speak of the half billion or so that Dignity has spent acquiring it.
