Re: Kate Burgess ... Cudnt,What an uplifting article! It's good that not all CEOs come up through the traditional varsity, MBA route.I didn't know that Dechra is getting into farm animals. Sits rather nicely with my Genus which is also into farm animals, albeit via a different entrance.LKH on the flybridge happy to hold Dechra and Genus
Re: Kate Burgess ... [link] write-up in telegraph today.
Kate Burgess ... ... off of the FT wrote a good piece in her Small Talk column about Dechra in today's pink 'un. Overall highly favourable. Tabs for Fido and Dobbin are real money spinners.LKH on the flybridge you know it makes sense
panmure "Dechra has announced the receipt of FDA approval for the first registration a generic antibiotic delivered through Putneys development pipeline since the acquisition of the US business. Todays news underpins the messaging we heard from the company both at the time of the Putney deal and earlier this week at prelims."
Re: Well, them results all ... "Dechra has announced a US product launch from the Putney stable, an antibiotic for cats & dogs. This will be the first generic entrant into a $50m market currently controlled by market leader Zoetis. This is therefore a relatively large product for Dechra and serves to demonstrate the inherent value within the Putney pipeline. We see it as underpinning forecasts at this stage, but it could lead to upgrades in due course."Singers agree pharmaspecialist!

Re: Well, them results all ... Yes, results and strategy look pretty good to me. The purchase of Putney is particularly interesting as Putney's generic veterinary drug business has enormous growth potential and the margins for generic veterinary drugs are generally a bit better than for human generic drugs. Don't worry LKH, Dechra won't do a Circassia as, unlike Circassis, Dechra is a solidly profitable business which does not rely on biotech breakthroughs, although I'm not sure Neil Woodford would understand this. I am also reassured by the fact that one of my favourite fund managers, Keith Ashworth-Lord, holds a stake in Dechra in his ConBrio Sanford Deland UK Buffettology fund, which is what originally drew my attention to Dechra.Other posters are also right in indicating that exposure to the pet products sector is highly desirable owing to the long term global expansion of this sector.
Only one thing to say .... [link] done, Dechra!LKH on the flybridge
Re: Well, them results all ... lost my beloved dog 2 years ago....and a good chunk of my money taken by CVS vets .checked out the business and invested in them .you can't go wrong with animal well care ....funny old world
Well, them results all ... ... look eminently satisfactory. Clearly tabs for Fido and Dobbin remain an area where fat profits can be made.I've got 2% of my shrunken wad in this puppy which seems about right given that you never know when a mob like this is gonnae pull a Circassia-type sickener on you but, for now, Dechra seems to be firing on all cylinders. So that's all right.LKH on the flybridge tracking steadily north west
Re: Still in here Cudnt,"what do you think would be a good exit price for this"No idea, m8. It is pricey on most conventional ratios but one should never underestimate the willingness of punters to pay whatever it takes for tabs for Dobbin or Fido, and there are few competitors in the animal pill and dog shampoo space.I've got 2% of my shrunken wad invested in Dechra and I shall just leave it invested in the hope that it continues to reward.I know little about John Laing but the diversity of the different projects with which they are involved would raise worries in me that the possibility of a major cloisterfrack in one or more of 'em cannot be ruled out.Good luck whatever you decide to do.LKH on the flybridge
Still in here Hi lk what do you think would be a good ext price for this, it's dong well but still looks pricey.Thinking of putting me pennies in john laing.
Re: Increase Share Capital LKH, The announcement today seems to have had an I'm ediate effect on the SP. or is nothing worry about? Have only resently bought in here have been pleased how they have performed in the short term.
Re: Increase Share Capital Hawk Eye,It just means that the number of shares in issue is just over 88 million. I wouldn't worry about it. Nothing has changed.LKH on the flybridge
Increase Share Capital Does this issue mean the capital has by 88m or just increased to 88m?
