Re: Rodnotty: See Weekend FT Lex "Anyone know what's going on here?? Dropped over 8% on opening and now climbing back a bit..."Or maybe this?[link] holding, still looking at 260p.Regards,Seadoc
Rodnotty: See Weekend FT Lex "Anyone know what's going on here?? Dropped over 8% on opening and now climbing back a bit..."Maybe a proof reader? For those who missed it: In the feature box of Lex column titled "Domino's Pizza: box it up" Last paragraph:"Domino's will struggle this year to match the pace of 2016 sales growth at 14%. A lack of big sports events on TV this summer could hurt. Even so, its shares look a tasty bargain."Me, I hold from years ago but for another slice I will wait for a special offer price around 260p.Regards,Seadoc
Re: Early fall Interesting that the Broker has landed on 320p (as fair price) as that is where 'resistance' is, and any significant move above would suggest the SP will recover some more! Someone else using TA I see....
Re: Early fall Well that Brokers downgrade comes at just the right time (to cover their *rses) - the chart was suggesting a bit of volatility (although volume wasn't great), AND the SP is getting into oversold territory, but it did try to recover.... Some of the hope that was driving the SP seems to have evaporated for now. So I will just see how things play out for now... All the Best to holders of DOM -
Re: Early fall Broker downgrade from 400p to 320
Early fall Anyone know what's going on here?? Dropped over 8% on opening and now climbing back a bit...Did I miss something?
Re: Investec A - DOM is certainly having a tough time, as suggested by the chart recently, and fear is having a bit of a rampage right now. I will certainly watch closely as sentiment can be pretty fickle, and it may well be worth a punt if the SP gets into way oversold territory. As to broker recs, I treat them with a good degree of scepticism (they may well be short or long and hope to exploit PI sentiment!!) It rather depends on the quality of their reasoning I would have thought, but that is up to individual PIs to work out for themselves. Its very interesting that the little chart shows the SP selling off big time at the second peak when it just marginally failed to break above the first peak in very early August last year - the strength just wasnt there to support a better SP, and boy has the decline been strong since!?DOM may well be a bit of volatile until it can settle down into a clear pattern, but there may well be a bit more downside to come before it can stabilise! (All in my view of course, and I could be wrong, so please treat my comments with a fair degree of scepticism, and do what suits you best - I never offer advise and dont follow it either - especially when its from a PI who you dont know) ATB
Re: Investec PE ratio 20. Investec reckons earnings (growth) going to be static or worse negative (under pressure). Hard to justify 450p as PE>30, yield ~2% without growth in sales/profits.So and DYOR, we wait until some trading guidance/figures appear and in the meantime uncertainty likely to drag price negative as there is no reason to buy. Painful one this. I trust the management to deliver, pretty please.A, thinking this one was unwise.
Re: Investec How can there be such a disparity between brokers?1 with a sell recommendation and target price of £2.71 and 1 reiterating a buy with a target price of £5.10 only a few weeks ago - doesn't make sense.
Re: Investec That's very interesting. Investec have just started coverage of Dom and are the only broker with a sell recommendation!!! The mean target price from existing brokers is around 450p. Reasons given for the low target price are consumer slowdown and increased competition. The economic environment is not that bad that people can't afford a pizza. Increased competition, mmmmm! Surely that's business as usual in the pizza business?
Investec Downgrade by Investec -- No great shakes - not a lot changed since yesterday - looks like a good entry point for those not in.[link]
Re: 5% drop Are some selling to buy into the Domino franchise for Turkey?M
5% drop Any news?Nothing on RNS or in the pressGames
Re: Another excellent set of results The chart gave a classic sell signal (50 day EMA crossing UNDER the 200 day EMA at the end of March - I really don't know why the SP has shown such weakness, but these 'mysteries' sometimes only become clear 'after the event'. I didn't make much of a profit with DOM on my last trade, but there you go!!! - and so far the 50 day EMA has proved (resistance) a real barrier for the SP! Whatever your view, I wish holder lots of luck with DOM ARPS IF the SP can't hold above 310p (assuming that level is hit reasonably soon....) it looks to me as though DOM may be in for a rather tough time, as that rising support line really needs to hold (all in my view - of course!... and it should be said I haven't made much trading DOM, but it has been a profit! So thats my record - marginally in the plus column!)
