Sell in May and go away........ Like many confused users now on this ii site I ask is this DOM message board a new one or the old one?
Sell in May and go away........ Sold a few today when DOM hit £3.70 to take some profit while the company is still in the current buy-back phase.Probably sold too early, knowing my luck..... We shall see.
Re: Blackrock 5% SJ - the obesety epidemic that is hitting Western economies is'nt going to help DOM, especially IF governemnts (as in the UK?) prevent any more advertising for cos selling products like takeaway Pizzas. and other 'unhealthy' food products! (DOM sponsors the Voice on ITV, So IF such a move happens it will surely affect DOM (I would have thought) - Nice rise today, and I wish you luck -
Re: Blackrock 5% Sorry guys please ignore the previous explanation of the rise.Having looked at today's RNS again I called BlackRock to clarify their holding. They confirmed in fact that their holding in DOM has now dropped below 5%.These Standard forms of notification are not easy to interpret by me as a private investor.Anyway happy to know BlackRock are still invested and happy to see the rise today.Maybe some other institution got interested because of the RNS.?SJPS A figure of 4.99 is below Five.......
Blackrock 5% Rise today on announcement that Blackrock have increased holding in DOM to 5%.DPZ Dominos USA have been enjoying rises recently, up 15% in 6 months, so may have caused them to take a look at UK business performance ?We have been flat a while here so maybe time to move back up nearer 400 again as growth continues albeit at a slower pace.Keep eating the takeaway pizzas my friends as UK restaurants suffer a downturn......
Results [link] pretty good -- should have bought back into this at 304 the other day and sold again today - grrGames
Re: KFC Our grandchildren went for a McDonalds instead, when their local KFC was just KF, at the weekend.Mind you, if DOM hits the 400p level again I think I will chicken out of here.......
KFC With the KFC saga , more people must be having pizza`s and the world cup looming , I have hopes for this , stay lucky with a little research
Re: Drop Profit taking, investor sentiment, market uncertainty, Trump effect, Brexit worries....Corillion liquidation nerves and Capita falling off cliff too..Take your pick.SJ - still holding DOM
Drop Why the drop today?
NEW ARTICLE: Why investors are tucking into Domino's Pizza "Competition in the takeaway sector is fierce, but LSEOMomino's Pizza today signalled that there still looks to be enough junk food to go around. The delivery franchise business, which is under pressure from rivals such as Just Eat and ..."[link]
German JV Acquisition Obviously the pros and cons of an acquisition are far more complex than this, but we don't have too much to go on, so it's the simplest analysis I can do - Cost 32m for a company making 3.5m profit, values the business at a PE of around 9, and hopefully synergies will be able to improve the profit figure. DOM currently on a PE of 22, so it looks like a good deal.
Re: DOM Update "Wow is that their latest topping?"HB -- Only for the less discerning meat eaters -- it's on offer "two for one"Games
Re: DOM Update "canabilisation could still take it's toll"Wow is that their latest topping?
DOM Update [link] good Q3 recovery but canabilisation could still take it's toll and the share price looks pretty full. I must admit I'd be pretty pxssed off if DOM kept opening new franchises a couple of streets away -- doesn't look like a sound business approach.Tempted to stop loss this one and sell if it approaches 400pGames
