Re: Best not rule out anything Yes, Leteng achieved an average value of $2,264 per carat in H1 2015 (but, incidentally, that was down to $1,899 in H1 2016 so going the wrong way) mainly due to 20 diamonds achieving a sales value of greater than $1 million each and an exceptional Type II of 160.2 carat. Gem's other mine, Ghaghoo, only achieved an average of $157 per carat. No mine can compete with Leteng - from Gem's own half-yearly report:'The Leteng mine is famous for the production of large, top colour, exceptional white diamonds, making it the highest dollar per carat kimberlite diamond mine in the world. Since Gem Diamonds acquisition of Leteng in 2006, the mine has produced four of the 20 largest white gem quality diamonds ever recorded.'Gem is an established miner - DCP are just starting as a producing miner. They are both good (but note that Gem made a loss in H1 2016) and should not really be compared at this stage of their relative developments.
Re: Best not rule out anything Jaf - how does Gem Diamonds achieve this over our $164 etc? "Leteng is the 15th biggest mine globally in terms of revenue; although its output is small, its price per carat is the highest in the world, at $2,264."
Re: Best not rule out anything Yes, that is a valid point and is one of the reasons why I do not expect a rapid rise in the sp over the next few months but I do expect a long and sustained rise in the sp over the next few years.
Re: Best not rule out anything the thing you miss Jaf however is that there has been a lot more shares issued since the fully funded claims last year so they take time to absorb.
Re: Best not rule out anything No, I don't find it worrying.DCP has, without doubt, had a rotten year, mostly outside its control but that is not really so relevant now. The sp doubled when people thought they could make a quick profit and promptly took their money elsewhere when the delays began. As you so rightly say, there is now a big loss of confidence and huge negative sentiment.BUT....We are now at the point where we should have been 12 months ago. All the equipment is in place, cash flow looks OK (assuming we sell some diamonds at the end of the month), the resource statement confirmed the value of the diamonds in Lace so unless something very unfortunate happens, DCP should do very well in the next year. It will take much longer for the sp to react positively than any of us would like because people are going to wait for actual results not promises, having been burnt once. But it will rise and show a very nice profit for those who wait IMO.
Re: Best not rule out anything Firestone Diamonds has doubled in value last 6 months, this has gone nowhere despite a change of news. Why? Sentiment and confidence.
Re: Best not rule out anything You dont find such things worrying then?[link]
Re: Best not rule out anything Yes, it's best to have absolutely no enthusiasm for a company in which one is invested. That way, you can never be disappointed on the next bad news.Seriously, if you really feel that DCP is that bad, sell at a loss now (if you haven't already) and try to get your money back on a share which you believe has potential.

Re: Hooray....! Yup, that excitement last all of a day and already gone flat. Sorry, but it shows the damage done past year to sentiment. That needs rebuilding, but admittedly continued good news would achieve that instead of all the negative ones PL kept producing each time.
Re: Hooray....! Yep starting the climb to12p
Hooray....! Sounds like good news at last.Must admit held my breath before I clicked on news.Fingers crossed for a nice rally
Re: 12p Target says Panmure Excellent news today on update. Now mining into the Kimberlite area and upping the amount of diamonds recovered to meet targets. Now they are mining the best area could see some exciting finds-hopefuly some super big diamonds.
Re: Another AIM flop? Sorry, but I can't let that stand. Yes, the share price has been disappointing for months but how have 'they" destroyed it ? Did 'they' cause the uneven floor in the mine ? Did 'they' cause the new safety requirements from the South African Authorities ? Did 'they' cause the accident last month ? (Actually, we could debate the last one because, legally, I suppose they did !).Anyway, after the tree shake this morning, the sp looks like it will finish up on the day but the next news is the one that's crucial.
