Re: RNSs A good deal for us, it moves a huge amount of uncertainty guaranteeing our future and the loan for Makhado from a government agency bodes well. From conversations with DB they expect to get IWUL suspension overturned soon and should have everything in place for Vele.

RNSs Awfully quiet on this BB at the moment! .. Despite much going on:-CZA share price fell back briefly below 3p a share but recovered a bit today.Rand falling in value with new finance minister. I wonder if he will chivvy on mining applications?Cyclone Debbie cut some key railway lines in Australia causing a small surge to the coal price.Oil price jumped because inventories lower than expected - helpful to the price of coal. - price of both coking and thermal coal still reasonably firm.RNS 1 today - up to $16.7m loan. Expensive! 16.7% interest and some warrants to buy some shares. Not too sure about some of the technicalities though. Aim is the help get Makhado into production.RNS 2 today - CZA spent $20.5m on a majority stake in a coal mine. "Uitkomst is a high grade thermal export quality coal deposit with metallurgical applications." Effectively paid for by new shares - shares issued as part of the purchase and a cash element funded by new issue shares bought by M&G and one other party.Well what does one make of all this?? Lots more shares issued at around 3p may limit the upside - however the upside needs a viable financial strategy to get Makhado into production - and these steps are the way to achieve that. Not sure who buys the coal from Uitkomst - but high quality coal is in demand. As per RNS - incorporating this mine into CZA will make a more financially robust company and provides the opportunity of using the expertise in UItkomst in CZA's other mines. So overall it must be viewed as a positive move as there is a clearer path to mine construction - just need those last permit(s) and the mining can set off.The B

Re: coo involved in naughty stuff Who was this guy anyway? No mention of him in the 2016 report (or in the RNSs that I looked through):-file:///C:/Users/Peter/Downloads/COA-IR16.pdfso presumably not a director? Since CZA is still waiting for the flag to start real operations this position was presumably not particularly onerous anyway. So in some respects it is only a bit of mud against CZA, but CZA is not losing a particularly significant person anyway? So hardly a good reason to suggest selling the shares! The B

Re: coo involved in naughty stuff BUY; the COO had no choice but to resign; and will now go without severance pay.Shouldn't be difficult to get a good COO when they actually need one, and one might come with a company merger.

COO Any views on COO? Not good news but should not change economics. The results did not add much to what we already knew. I had hoped that there mighthave been a bit of a rallying call saying most outstanding issues resolved and things are looking up with a higher price for coal. The B

Re: Pretoria Traffic jams No new coal-fired power plants will be built in Australia, says CS Energy[link] did you get your Info from ?????

Re: Pretoria Traffic jams If they want any ammunition to show that renewables are not the answer on their own, they should take a look at South Australia, where they recently had power cuts during a heatwave. The Australian Govt. are now going to build more coal fired power stations.

The buzz 01 Mar 2017

Pretoria Traffic jams I note that there are traffic jams in Pretoria from coal lorries - the drivers are protesting about Eskom moving away from coal to renewables threatening their jobs. Another reason for SA to keep coal:-"Several major roads into Pretoria were blocked this morning by coal truck drivers staging a protest about renewable energy. The drivers, who are employed by power utility Eskom to collect and deliver coal to power stations around South Africa, are demonstrating about Eskom's decision to make use of more renewable energy. The drivers, associated with the Coal Transportation Forum, are reported to be gathering at Marabastaad, where they will march to the Union Buildings. The CTF has criticised investment in renewable energy, saying it will destroy thousands of jobs in the coal sector."[link] B

Re: Water Additionally, they were hoping for the remaining authorisations on Vele to br granted 6-weeks after the environmental authorisation. This should be in the next few weeks, and then it should go to the Board as to whether we make the plant modifications and re-start Vele. So a few things going on, as well as the bid for Keaton or another CGA which should be in the next couple of weeks (i hope)

Re: Water I spoke with the company last week. With regards to Makhado, they are making good progress on overturning the water license suspension and hopefully will have this completed by the end of the quarter. Would I be correct in thinking the Chinese investment of $130m could then take place after necessary due diligence etc etc?

Water A better back ground for CZA'a water permits. There seems to have been lots of rain in SA recently:-[link] B

Re: £161 shares traded today. The share price is in a world of its own. Don't forget that CZA is dealt on more than one stock exchange. The share price does seem to be lower than usual - that is a bit surprising now that they have so much funding in place and the price of coal is much higher. The B
