Re: T/o I completed this morning at 79.5!!Time to move on
Re: T/o Info on company site:[link] to 2 alternatives, both not recommended by the board, but doesn't say what they are.Timescale"It is currently anticipated that shareholder meetings will take place at the end of calendar Q1 or at the beginning of calendar Q2 2016 and completion is expected to take place shortly thereafter".
Re: T/o It is neither, as the deal appears to be of the all share variety. Perhaps somebody can explain it in plain English. The only cash is the 3p special divi which the shareholders would have received as an ordinary divi in any case.
T/o Salutations to all holders. But is it 78.04+3=81.04p mentioned last night, or 86.82p as mentioned this morning? A significant difference.
Cable & Wireless snapped up by Liberty [link] & Wireless Communications was snapped up by Liberty Global last night in a multi-billion-pound deal which could trigger an £11m windfall for its chief executive. The London-based telecoms group has agreed to the takeover from American rival Liberty, in a £3.6bn, 86.82p per share deal.CWCs boss Phil Bentley is in line to make up to £11.4m from the acquisition. He bought 4.3m shares when he joined Cable and Wireless and reinvested them rather than take a dividend. This brings the total he owns outright to 5.3m.
Reuters confirms Liberty Offer Released in the last hour...The stock offer is valued at 78.04 pence per share. Shareholders will also receive a special dividend of 3 pence per share...And here is the link[link]

Re: xdivi date There is no indication in any press release what will happen to a CWC divi if there is a takeover. It depends on whether the offer (if it materializes and goes through) is cash or cash + shares. I would prefer a cash offer. If the latter, I don't really want shares listed in the US because of the Witholding Tax on divis and getting involved with W8-BEN.
Re: Expectations No it's not. That was last year's date.
Re: Expectations Ex div 20th November.

Expectations I wonder how the talks are going with Liberty? Share price doesn't seems to be giving us any clues. What are our expectations?I'm hoping for a bid of 85-100p, am I too ambitious?Oh well, only a fortnight to g
Re: Jefferies maint 87p tgt What makes me laugh is in the FT - "someone close to the talks said an offer of around 85p was being discussed" - good to see they are reporting insider knowledgeFD
NEW ARTICLE: Trends and Targets for 29/10/2015 "LLOYDS GROUP PLC (LSE:LLOY) As the chart illustrates 'they' were kind enough to give Lloyds a couple of days above the trend. Hopefully not too many people trusted this supposedly significant trend break as their money has probably gone on ..."[link]
