Re: FCA One of the six firms named as having problems is Countrywide - owned by CSN. The FCA's announcement gives little away in terms of sanctions, remedial action, etc.
Re: FCA A profit taken cannot be lost through subsequent SP movements. You always have the opportunity of re-entering at a lower price.I have been in CSN since 2005, and my b/e is £1.57 neglecting dividends and £0.62 including dividends. It is currently my largest holding. The SP certainly seems to have been going sideways (albeit with large swings) since the beginning of 2014. I have been giving some thought to reducing my holding and moving the capital into a more dynamic share.
Re: FCA Kinda take the opposite view, but then I've been in for a long time (2009) and have benefited handsomely from capital growth and divis.I sold at 318, rightly or wrongly, believing that this could be expensive, but if not there are quite a few safe high yielders available with better growth prospects.
Re: FCA "Devonplay, the worry of course is that the FCA turns this into another PPI type of fiasco, however, currently a hold or wait and see approach appears pragmatic."Agree, I wouldn't be jumping ship at this time, but neither would I be buying.Wait and see, there's always something round the corner, and very rarely is there a desperate need to buy anything.DL
Re: FCA In case anybody wishes to read the results of the FCA review.[link] review does not indicate the 11 firms by name, referring to them only as A, B, etc.JJHB, you are of course correct that the size of CSN makes its sp more sensitive. It is to be hoped that this is the reason for the disproportionate sp reaction, and not trading on insider information!Devonplay, the worry of course is that the FCA turns this into another PPI type of fiasco, however, currently a hold or wait and see approach appears pragmatic.
Re: FCA Hi BowmanRe the SP move it could also be because the volume of shares traded for CSN is relatively small and so it doesn't take that much in the way of selling to see a 5%+ mark down.
Re: FCA I have to say I wasn't surprised by a large drop.I'm sitting on my hands at the moment, not in any hurry to buy.DL
Re: Why the big drop? still baffled, isn't uncrossing to do with balancing the books "after" the market not while it's open?Just wonder if you tried to buy yesterday late when price dropped whether there was actually any stock available at that price. Anyway irrelevant now!
Re: Why the big drop? See the posts from March about 'uncrossing'?
Re: Why the big drop? correct its not ex divi today so back to original any idea why the drop?No news as I can seeI would like to get back into this one as I sold at 350 4/5 months ago
Re: Why the big drop? Sorry ladyline,Price falls on day the divi goes ex, which was the 11th Sept, not when divi is paid.
Re: Why the big drop? Always drops after the Divi payout but usually makes it to a higher point before the next Divi.LL
Why the big drop? Anyone know what is happening?
