Re: any comments about sp rise? thanks TX2
Re: any comments about sp rise? Nothing to add to my June comments. The shares are fairly illiquid so any above nominal buying or selling changes the price with from memory about 60% owned by 5 people who are probably unlikely to sell in the market.Generally the first half of the year is the least profitable although last years included exceptional profit from sale of a brand name.Probably reasonably priced based on what is known at just over book NAV.
any comments about sp rise? no comments since June. have bought in earlier today, more by luck than judgement, and I am looking for any views on the positive sp performance.
Results In line with expectations.Creightons is now in very good financial shape with substantial net current assets including net cash.NAV circa 12p per share. The purchase of the Devon business looks promising.Good value at around 9p if you are prepared to take a longish term view.
Broad Oak Toiletries Interesting purchase this company seems to have being in business for 30 years or so with a substantial turnover which increased rapidly in the last couple of years from a previous £8 to £10m range. It had substantial stock, plant etc according to its most recent balance sheet and prior to last year appears to have been profitable based on a quick look at its previous accounts. Administrators were only appointed about 10 days ago.So Creightons have moved fast, hopefully a canny purchase.
Re: Results The performance bonus is as per 2002 agreement with above parties when Creightons acquired Potter & Moore;the latter now constitutes the entire business of Creightons. At this time Creightons was largely a shell company its own cosmetics business had to all intents & purposes failed and it was near insolvent. The company is now in good financial shape with net cash and has a substantial manufacturing facility. It is in a competitive field;but the fact that it sold two brand names for nearly £1.5m profit shows that there is probably some value beyond book value, which itself is well above share price. As far as I am aware the continuing cost of a Main Market listing is not greatly more than an AIM one once listed, and Creightons listing pre dates AIM;the main saving of the latter is that it is easier/cheaper to raise capital from share issues and in takeovers. However this is not a course that Creightons has pursued. In due course I expect a takeover for Creightons.
Re: Results The performance bonuses of Mr. McIlroy and Mr. Johnson for the year to 31 March 2015 are worth checking out as they look very contrived and designed to ensure that the above gentlemen receive lots of money. The fundamental problem is that this company is operating in a very competitive environment and lacks the financial clout of many of its competitors, particularly where brand marketing is concerned. I don't understand why the cost of a full listing is maintained. AIM is normally the natural home for companies like this.
Results Sound performance. The £850k exceptional profit from the sale of Real Shaving Company has improved finances with substantial net cash on balance sheet.NAV now over 10p with approaching 9p per share net current assets.Good value.
Creightons fundmentals report I am researching Creightons, it looks like good value on here: [link]
Re: Results Results in line with expectation;these do not include exceptional profit of £850,000 from sale of Real Shaving Company brand name in May which will come into next years figures.Profit taking from smallish volume of sales in an illiquid market has pushed down share price to currently around 7.5p buy which is less than net current assets per share prior to crediting the funds from last months sale.Good value especially if share price weakens from further profit taking.
Real Shaving Company. Seems a very good sale price and tends to indicate that the company has significant value in its brands which is not reflected in its balance sheet.
Re: Share Price! I am the same, thought I virtually lost my money on this one!Did a bit of search, but can't find any information on SP rise???Hopefully it will carry on!!!!
Share Price! LOL!I did n't think I would live to see a shareprice spread of 8p to 9p!Actually the shares are still quite cheap and probably market cap is below NAV and prob on a PE of around 10.Especially as it is a decent business with a Main Market, not AIM,listing.Probably a lot less market value than some shell companies.
Results Seemingly steady progress before exceptional one off profit. The shares remain cheap in spite of increase price this year but obviously are illiquid.
