From the July 2017 Newsletter: [link] ExxonMobil viewed Block LB-13 as highly prospective, we believe the re-interpretation will need to reveal compelling new prospects for the partners before negotiations can be contemplated for a Phase 3 extension of the PSC.""Following the disappointing results from the Mesurado well, Canadian Overseas is moving its focus to its Joint Venture Partnership with Shoreline Energy International Limited (Shoreline and particularly to the acquired Block OPL 226 offshore Nigeria."video....interview[link]

Strong cash position 1) £2.65+ million in bank currently (based on recent placing at 0.5p and burn rate)2) burn rate of ~£300k/month (ref recent RNS where this is stated) - 8+months from now before the next placing.3) CEO put £150k of his own money into the recent placing - an extremely rare thing to see directors putting in £100k plus.4) Placing was oversubscribed by £2.5 million but CEO didn't take it up - logical conclusion is he doesn't want to raise excess funds at such a low share price because he believes it will be considerably higher before they need to come back to the market again.5) Early production from an appraisal well by Jan 2018 - ref recent presentation on website. Courtesy of Ballistic: "Look at Srsp sat at £30mln Mcap on nothing more than Copl and we sat at £8mln Mcap."6) Shlumberger pumping in $750mln+ into the adjacent blocksThe BIG news we are waiting for here is a funding agreement (and before anyone says it - it is not going to be via a placing as they need about $40 million +) - when/if this comes through you can look at 1.5p as an absolute base. Ask yourself why the CEO would put £150k in and why he turned down an extra £2.5 million at the placing, if he wasn't very confident that he was going to get funding on decent terms....
good punt keep an eye on this bottom drawer.waiting for further drop.gla

CFO update The COPL team and its partner continue to evaluate the Liberia drill hole information against the 3D seismic. It will take some time but no further decisions are effective until the analysis is completed. COPL operations team are working on OPL226 in the meantime. The pursuit of the Nigerian asset to significantly move forward and create sustainable cash flow has not waivered.
