Re: Results It's a great share this. I think it will carry on going up for a bit.
sell Even JP Morgan, the last remaining cheerleader for Colt said after the latest quarterly results we believe it will always be difficult for Colt to sustainably generate meaningful cash flow due to challenging demand/supply characteristics, and inferior economies of scale vs its competition.Return on equity last year was just 1.2% which is forecast to rise to a giddy 2% this year. Given that Colt trades on a P/E of over 60x and considering its consistent record of failure to deliver and constant restructurings and the associated risks to shareholders, this is a clear sell.
Re: Results "Colt taking off at last"If you think this is what take off looks like, let's hope you never get to fly anything!
Re: Results Yes Colt doing brilliantly isn't it. So well that in the latest quarterly results they don't even mention profits just a meaningless EBITDA number. So that will have been another large loss.Revenues down, further cash burn and yet another restructuring (how many is that now?)No wonder it has significantly underperformed its sector (see chart) over the last year.If it was a dog, you'd have it put down.

IC view Colt scrapped the five-year revenue, cash profit and capital spending targets it laid out in 2012 as it crashed into the fences of regulatory price cuts and depressed European economies. The telecom services provider has restructured its business, shifted its focus towards key growth markets and made big-ticket acquisitions - but to no avail: underlying cash profit slid 7 per cent.IC view:Colt's troubles show no sign of abating. Strip out cash of 6p a share and Colt's shares trade at an exorbitant 98 times forecast earnings. Sell.
Re: Underperforming or five years. In fact pick any reasonable period over which to compare Colt against its index and the only question is how great was its underperformance. To me, that is the classic definition of a dog stock - one which can't ever even match its (much lower risk) index.
Re: Underperforming Or over 3 years
Underperforming Not able to match its sector index (again).
Re: Results "this will be a good year for Colt"You have been saying the same thing since 2009. You'll have to be right eventually. Keep up the good work.
Re: Results A good set of results and with solid earnings and prospects for expansion, this will be a good year for Colt.
The Real Result If you had bought a relatively boring and very cheap index tracker this is how you would have done versus buying shares in Col
