Re: COB buy I think I`m possibly late to the rally but bought back in @ 122 shares not SB.I had intended to at 110 last week but hesitated.Plenty of room to add should it drop further.ATBsoi
Re: COB buy Rights issue Thursday?
Re: COB buy SP firmer towards Thursday results statement. Surely no more bad news. If the CEO comes out with a half decent plan for getting the company back on track I woud expect further improvement. Was looking to top up on one last dip below 110, but not much hope of that now IMO.Callun
Re: COB buy Hi soi,Well done with that trade. Worth keeping an eye on with a view to future trading, IMHO.New management team have executed a deep clean, but output a cautious forward looking statement in case they missed something. They seem fully commited to getting the firm back into a proftable situation where they can be proud of the company slogan.Along the way there should be plenty of trading opportunities, with the floor already set, probably.Good luckCallun

Re: COB buy A bit too brave for me. I read "The balance sheet is clearly not strong enough to properly support the operations of the Group" and got cold feet. Sounds like an open offer share issue. ie Very cheap shares for the fat cats and the ordinary shareholder gets diluted. The B

Hold to the end? [link] has become something of a specialist in profit warnings, having issued four since 2015, but the shares are still worth 'holding', The Times´s Tempus said.""">>>> I seem to recall similar advice on HMV, RBS etc."""""""So much so, that after a £500.0m rescue rights issue in 2016 its net debt was pared to £877.0m, but is now back at £1.03bn."">>> It doesn't matter what Cobham does it consumes cash at a far faster rate than it can collect it.""""Management has three options, to renegotiate its covenants, another discounted cash call or a takeover and break-up of the business."""">>> Ip dip, which will they pick?Somehow the analcysts want you to lose all of your money instead of some of it. Jefferies From Citywire:"Jefferies: Cobham not in meltdown Shares in aerospace and defence company Cobham (COB) nosedived after it cancelled its dividend and issued a profit warning but Jefferies believes the company isnt in meltdown.Analyst Sandy Morris retained his buy recommendation and target price of 180p on the shares, despite shares trading down 14.5%, or 23p, at 140p at the time of writing. [The] trading update is disappointing, particularly 2016 net debt that is guided around £130 million higher than we expected, he said. We believe Cobham is not in meltdown, but we recognise the high net debt, passing of the full-year 2016 final dividend and the absence of agreement on [air-to-air refuelling tanker] KC-46 may make it appear otherwise to some observers.Morris said Cobham would be pleased to see the back of 2016 but that there remained a risk of no further investment into the KC-46 programme. We suppose the argument that Cobham has now absorbed material financial pain - up to and including the passing of the full year 2016 final dividend - might simply cut no ice with the customer, he said."I guess there are risks with the review outcome, but we should be fine after that.nk
Re: Extensive reading "Where does your figure of £1.35B come from?"Callun, figures at end of 2015. They had a cash call since then, so I guess that is one example of how Cobham get's it's money.Unless they turn around a 5 year profit decline, they'll be back for more.Games
Re: Extensive reading Games,Acccording to the RNS "The Group's draft managements accounts indicate net debt at 31 December 2016 of £1.03bn (2015: £1.21bn) at the closing rate of $1.24/£".Where does your figure of £1.35B come from?Callun
Re: Extensive reading Games,"stopped when I saw the debt at £1.35Bn"I know what you mean, m8, though much depends on whether the cash flow from the recent Aeroflex acquisition, for which the jury appears to be saying that Cobham signicantly overpaid, can service that extra debt. I have no idea whether it can or not but a quick glance at the various activities that Aeroflex undertakes left me totally buffaloed. JAN military discretes, for example ... eh? Say what? I'm sure they're terribly useful if you need them, but they mean zippo to your correspondent from the point of view of whether one can make any money outta them.[link] I think I'll steer clear, notwithstanding the provenance of the CEO and the CFO.LKH on the flybridge arts
