Re: Topped up Looks like another example of a share dropping by more than the dividend amount after going ex-div.

Greyinvestor 06 May 2015

Topped up Topped up again today with a reasonable chunk @ £1.90, seems like a good price to me.....

Re: Dir shareholding I've noticed that the drops post XD date are getting larger and larger throughout the market. It must be a) dividend funds selling out immediately post XD and b) investors getting out who aren't prepared to wait a year for another (possible) good dividend.I think that it's a good idea to buy post XD in todays market. The drop in price can be significantly deeper than the value of the dividend. For novices the XD date, literally Ex Dividend date, is the date on which you lose your entitlement to receive the promised dividend.

Dir shareholding I noticed this the other day-at least he's prepared to pay more than current price !Director/PDMR Shareholding28/04/2015 - 17:26 RNSRNS Number: 6008L Cenkos Securities PLC 28 April 2015 28 April 2015 Cenkos Securities plc ( the "Company" Director/PDMR Shareholding Cenkos Securities plc has today received notification that on 28 April 2015 Jeff Hewitt, a non-executive director of the Company, purchased 11,641 ordinary shares in the Company at a price of 203.90 pence per ordinary share. Re: Dividend Broncomaniac-I didn't know that-thanks very much for info-you learn something every day.

Damp Seaweed 30 Apr 2015

Re: Dividend Bronco,That sounds logical...thanksHowever we are still currently down 17p on the back of a 10p divi, which is disappointing.

Broncomaniac 30 Apr 2015

Re: Dividend The register lags real time by two days. It is the ex-dividend date that matters. If you weren't holding the shares yesterday then you don't qualify for the dividend. The register of shareholders on May 1st will show reflect those people holdings shares at the end of April 29.

Damp Seaweed 30 Apr 2015

Re: Dividend That has got me rather confused also Maybe something else is going on

coldascheese 30 Apr 2015

Dividend To recieve dividend you need to be on register on the 1st May.So selling today makes no sense. In fact buy today or tommorow and you get the 10p dividend. See the RNS

CNKS future My thoughts and reservations are further down the board KM.In summary, when the market is buoyant and floats plentiful, CNKS will print money. When the market turns down, earnings will fall heavily. But in my view the shares are still quite good value.

Re: Hello grey oops should have read;I also look for the divi and income stream as you do and not short term gains. km1

Hello grey Hi Grey I am looking for a replacement high divi payer to replace Friends life and come across CNKS and yourself on this board. I also look for the divi and income stream. As I have valued your comments on previous boards, What are your thoughts on CNKS currently, I can see ex divi is 30th april so I expect the SP to increase. Thanks for any comments.KM1

Re: Be aware I think you've misunderstood my post, which was designed to make it clear that there are downsides as well as upsides, to another, less experienced, poster (read back through this BB).I am a holder of the shares and are am/have been very supportive of CNKS. The fact that I've bought them twice in the last six weeks surely suggests that I believe in the story.I am fully aware of the potential for further large deals in the course of this year. On the Quindell front I am less supportive. Nomads have been too quick to let management teams get away with proposals; the various flotations of Chinese companies which have then crashed and burned proves my point for me. Are you suggesting that Quindell shareholders have done well? To be fair to CNKS, they are 'only' the NOMAD. Oh well.

coldascheese 03 Apr 2015

Re: Be aware Grey-are you not aware they have another very large floatation about to take place and as regards Quindell they have stayed with them all along and good for them I say as all the shorters/bloggers attacked Quindell and ruined the prospects they had. Quindell may have over egged the profits somewhat but they were never as bad as it was made out and Cenkos remaining with them, under very difficult circumstances in my view has enhanced their reputation as you can see buy the new business they keep winning. So please do a bit more research before commenting.

Greyinvestor 03 Apr 2015

Be aware The risks of CNKS are as follows; The company was the NOMAD for Quindell, which has been damaging to its reputation and may yet result in action from the FSA and/or shareholders.CNKS is a corporate broker; earnings of such companies are highly volatile. The company is very dependent on a small number of staff, who could easily jump ship.Last year earnings were flattered by the huge AA flotation. Earnings are entirely dependent upon new flotations. The shares have risen 27% in the few weeks since I bought them. In my view a secure EPS is 20p. So fair value for me is about £2.40, not hugely higher. If you are a first time investor, research investment trusts on Trustnet. Remember that the stock market is at the second highest valuation in history. It is more likely to go down than up.Caveat emptor........
