Midas says BUY Midas verdict: CentralNic did not have the easiest debut on AIM. The shares doubled in the first few months, only to collapse to 25p as enthusiastic buyers came and went. Today, however, at 51½p the stock is a bargain. Crawford’s strategy is entirely logical and the shares should go far. Buy. Full article:[link]

update from today Update from zeus on researchtree:"During the first six months of FY16, CentralNic has demonstrated how the acquisition of Instra has driven the company’s growth strategy by both increasing recurring revenues (now 60% of sales versus 51% in H115) and improving the quality of earnings. In terms of headline numbers, sales have increased by 101% to £8.9m (£4.4m), adj. EBITDA by 29% to £1.3m (£1.0m) and adj. PBT by 12% to £0.9m (£0.8m). The Retail division was significantly enhanced by the contribution from Instra, while there were minimal premium domain name sales in H116 compared to £0.7m H115, which diluted the overall gross margin to 26% from 43%. Management are in advanced discussions with trade buyers for premium domains and anticipate securing significant high value and high margin sales in H2, and as a result, remain confident of achieving FY numbers."

Sold this morning on bad results I sold this morning. Just too many uncertainties. I had hoped the reliance on sales of premium domain name sales would be solved by the Instra purchase and other core business growth, but this hasn't yet been the case.I think the share price might slip a fair bit further, so best to protect oneself.

Re: Results out : PBT ahead of expectations The market likes the results, and Zeus Capital agree the results are good and say as follows this morning:"FY15 results show that CentralNic has delivered revenue of £10.4m (+71%), adj. EBITDA of £3.3m (+47%) and adj. PBT of £3.0m (+113%), with growth in both revenues and profits experienced across all three group divisions. In our view, the business is well positioned for continued growth, thanks to a growing and impressive track record of diversification and M&A. When CentralNic came to the public market in September 2013, its primary business activity was as an owner-operator of second level domains and as a “Wholesaler” of various other top level domain names (“TLDs”, responsible for operating the complete technical backend for a number of TLDs. It also had guarantees to operate, as a wholesaler, 26 new domain launches. The CentralNic business of today is in a significantly stronger position within the domain industry, having proven itself to be the leading Wholesaler of new gTLDs and also as a result of management having successfully moved the business up the value chain via clever M&A and investment, with the creation of two new operating divisions; Retail and Enterprise. Well positioned for impressive growth over the forecast period. Net sales are expected to increase from £6.1m in FY14A to £26.5m in FY17E, a CAGR of some 63%, and EBITDA from £1.7m in FY14A to £7.6m in FY17E, a CAGR of 64%. In our view, the current valuation does not reflect the progress made to date by management nor the opportunities that should arise for the business to establish itself as a major player in the sector over the medium term. "

Results out : PBT ahead of expectations Results are out and are good.In particular, the £2.95m adjusted PBT is well ahead of Peel Hunt's forecast £2.71m:[link] don't publish an adjusted EPS figure unfortunately. They "remain confident in the outlook for 2016", and there's lots of positivity going forward. The Instra acquisition in January should enable CNIC to make strong advances towards this year's forecast of 4.02p EPS.

Good news today re trading RNS out noting succinctly that trading is in line with market expectations.Since expectations are for historic 2.97p EPS and current year 4.02p EPS that leaves CNIC looking pretty decent value at the current share price:[link]

RNS - excellent news RNS now out re the 4m TLDs....amazing progress when you conside the last 1m have only taken since 15th February:[link] Achieves Four Million New TLD Registrations CentralNic Group plc ("CentralNic", (AIM: CNIC), the internet platform business which derives revenues from the global sale of domain names, is pleased to announce that it is the world's first Wholesaler ("registry backend" to achieve sales of four million domain names using new Top-Level Domains ("TLDs", according to the domain industry statistics website ntldstats.com. The total number of registrations represents a 33% increase since 15 February 2016, when CentralNic became the first company in the world to achieve three million new TLD registrations.[link] As at 0700hrs on 3 May 2016, CentralNic is ranked in the top position, with 4,005,688 domains registered using CentralNic's registry platform, representing 23.33% of all domains registered globally using new TLDs. In addition, five of CentralNic's exclusive TLDs, .xyz, .site, .online, .website, and .space, retain their positions in the top 20 amongst 978 new TLDs launched to date, with .site moving up from the 19th most subscribed new TLD to the 7th most subscribed TLD. CentralNic's Wholesale Division is one of its three growing and profitable business units, which benefit from very strong cashflows, recurring earnings and scalability with relatively fixed costs. Its retail Division was recently enhanced with the acquisition of Instra Group in January 2016, and its Enterprise Division is taking advantage of the increasing role of large corporations in the domain name industry. CentralNic's CEO Ben Crawford commented: "Our continued pre-eminence as the world's leading wholesaler or "registry backend" for new Top-Level Domains is due to several factors. Firstly, we enable our clients to access more retailers than any of our peers, including in the fast growing China market where we are the clear leader among non-Chinese distributors. "Secondly, the quality of the domains we distribute is second to none. We have a phenomenal portfolio of premium, industry-specific "Dot Industry" TLDs as well as a new generation of generic, value priced domains such as .xyz and .website, which are rapidly increasing in uptake by both small businesses in the emerging world as well as the most successful players in the tech industry.""

Good news from the USA for CNIC via its investee company Accent Media....[link] TEAM: US sports sign up for ‘.tickets’ web domains 15:28 14 Jan 2016Every team in the NHL, MLB, NFL and NBA has been registered for .tickets.American sports teams have signed up for new internet domains which help the marketing of legitimate event tickets.Every team in the National Hockey League (NHL), Major League Baseball (MLB), National Football League (NFL), and National Basketball Association (NBA) will be registered for ‘.tickets’ web domains being sold by London based start-up Accent Media. Additionally, other premium domain names such as ‘nfl.tickets’ and ‘superbowl.tickets’ have been snapped up. The .tickets domain is regulated so that only authorised websites can get the domain, so the intention is that only bona fide sources of event tickets can be found on that domain.”We admire the American attitude towards rights-protection and control of their economic interests, and we are very pleased that our proposition has been endorsed by what is a priority sector for us,” said Steve Machin, Accent’s co-chief executive. Gary Fisher, Accent’s other co-chief, meanwhile, added: “The relentless professionalism of US sports as a commercial sector is impressively shown by the zeal with which they have become early adopters of ‘.tickets’ domains.”Today’s US sports news comes after European soccer teams such as Manchester United and Real Madrid signed up for domains, as well as motor racing’s Formula One group and rock band U2. It is part owned by AIM quoted CentralNic (LON:CNIC), a domain name wholesaler and the technical partner for domain owners, which in 2014 invested US$1.6mln in return for a 12% stake in the company."
