Re: World class? ... not! "I see that Woody's Allied Minds has been going down again today which has cheered me up no end."Be interesting to see what he puts in the new income fund.At least you'll know what to offload, or avoid - lol Games
Re: World class? ... not! Games,"What % of your wad did this start out at?"Not sure, m8. It's [checks] 0.5% now, so I guess mebbe 1.5% originally. From memory I think I sold BTG and put most of the proceeds into CIR, eejit that I was.One bit of good news is that I see that I stuck it in the memsahib's Isa, so it's not spoiling my personal record LOL, though Mrs LKH isn't best pleased and keeps muttering "First RBS, now CIR", the ingrate.I see that Woody's Allied Minds has been going down again today which has cheered me up no end.LKH on the flybridge
We are a commercial company now..... [link] were largely an R&D business nine months ago and we are now largely a commercial business, and we managed to transition that very rapidly."""That's the funniest statement I've ever seen from a senior exec. What he's effectively said is that we were only in the business to play with R&D, so now that we are proven failures in that field, we better get on and become a distributor and sell sell sell.Games -- Oh my word - you don't need many brain cells to get access to this kind of cash it seems!!
Re: World class? ... not! "positive view on the ephicacy"I mean efficacy - not the US life sciences company.Games
Re: World class? ... not! LK - What % of your wad did this start out at?It was just over 0.5% of mine, now 0.18%Not a disaster, but a major annoyance for getting involved in Woody's scatter gun approach to investing in unquoted, randon Venture Cap companies and biotech hopefuls with no understanding of the % chances of success or any idea of the technology adopted. To be fair I had gotten a positive view on the ephicacy of the approach to their research by an ex VP research at Pjizer who had looked over the methodology.Just goes to show that in the field of biotech research it is a total lottery, even for the most qualified and experienced technical gurus.Games -- Never again!!
World class? ... not! The CIR website has the strapline "A world class specialty biopharmaceutical company".I'm giving mesen a damn good kicking for not spotting that before I invested in this munter. The words "world class", when applied by a company to itself and/or its board of directors, is an absolute guarantee that the company will go down ... like an anchor. Why, oh why, did I not do more research before I parted with my hard-earned?World class? My ahse!LKH on the flybridge developing an allergy to Circassia ... and Wood
Re: Finished Games,"I am seriously considering awarding CIR "munter" status"Ah, I see, on rereading my previous posts [how sad is that?] that I awarded CIR "munter" status some time ago, so it's probably too late to get out now. Whatever.LKH on the flybridge
Re: Finished Games,"I'll be selling if there is anything left."Worry ye not, m8. Woody will buy your shares. The crop-headed thug bought another 3 million shares yesterday ... Talk about a glutton for punishment, eh!I'd get out quickly if I were you as I am seriously considering awarding CIR "munter" status ... and we all know what happens whenLKH on the flybridge awards "munter" status to any comp
Finished Well we can write this one off, I'll be selling if there is anything left. This whole thing smacks of a fraud to garner investment money and it should be subject to a criminal investigation.""""Allergy test flop hits CircassiaCircassia Pharmaceuticals is ditching investment in allergy treatments after a second clinical trial flop in under a year. The company, Britains biggest biotech stockmarket float in over a decade when it listed in 2014, admitted that a dust mite study showed its therapy did not work. This follows a setback last year for a product to combat allergies to cats. Chief executive Steve Harris said it would now focus on its wider respiratory business, in particular a new US collaboration with AstraZeneca. He added: In two welldesigned field trials, a robust placebo response has confounded our ability to demonstrate a significant treatment effect, despite positive earlier study results.""Games
Re: Sunk again Nothing works better than Circassia's dust mite therapy - literally!! The consequences will mean a write-off of all the intangibles linked to the allergy portfolio in CIR's balance sheet. The results to be announced in a week's time will therefore be a kitchen sink exercise with lots of red ink and everything included. Depending where the shares end up I'd expect there to be takeover rumours as their prospects of thriving as an independent company don't look great.
Sunk again Oh well it didn't last long did it.Games
Re: Well Hallelujah!! "hiring unemployed salesmen and keeping fingers crossed for the next rights issue"dokp -- you hit the nail on the head, this reverse policy seems like a loser to me.Most of Astra's mainstream drugs seem to be missing, let alone the one's they are flogging.I should have sold when it hit 111 today -- now it's back at 94.Games -- Oh will I ever invest in another biotech ? -- I think not.
Re: Well Hallelujah!! Well CIR is certainly burning cash, but what happened to the last £275m spent on Aerocrine and Prosonix? The strategy used to be developing drugs to be sold onto the big boys, now it seems to be buying the drugs the big boys want to be shot of, hiring unemployed salesmen and keeping fingers crossed for the next rights issue.
Re: Well Hallelujah!! Games,"You should send woody a set of spurs and play him the tune."Notwithstanding today's spike this is the only tune I'd play Woody so far as CIR is concerned, m8.[link] never been to Reno ... I've been to Atlantic City, mind. An excellent place to catch bluefish if memory serves. It would never have occurred to me to build a casino there. Perhaps that's why I'm not POTUS.LKH on the flybridge come on, you Circassia!
Re: Well Hallelujah!! Speaking of Ponderosa, have you ever visited Reno? The road out is pretty good.I suspect Woody has had a hand in this deal, or is that undermining the management of both companies involved, I dunno. You should send woody a set of spurs and play him the tune. The ZS9 situation isn't going too well. It's pretty (yes there is an apostrophe needed obvious that the FDA has been interfered with to slow down AZN's introduction of the drug, while Relypsa, which just happens to be located in Redwood City (my old work place) in the US of A, gets ahead of the game.America First there Donald!!Games -- Oh well The Frenchy only paid £2.7Bn for the drug --- how much?????
