I've reluctantly decided that I know nothing whatsoever about the economics of the shoe and luxury goods biznay so, in an attempt not to get sidetracked into making myself more knowledgeable ... enjoyable though that process might be ... I've decided to tidy up my shrunken wad and have sold my Jimmy Choo at a modest profit.This does not represent a view that it's a bad investment; it may well be successful, in which case I shall give mesen a savage kicking (not for the first or the last time I'm sure). Barclays Upgrade Shares in the fashion retailer Jimmy Choo rose on Thursday after Barclays initiated coverage with an 'overweight' recommendation and a price target of 208p on expectations for stronger growth than its sector peers.Barclays predicted earnings per share would grow at an average pace of 14% over the next five years thanks to store openings with like-for-like growth reaching between 4 and 5% per year.2020, the shoe retailer was also expected to boost its margins on an earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization basis from 16.8% to 20.8%.[link] - might add a few more on dips - It's dipped today but I want a bigger dip.

Legal action Jimmy Choo's founder is accusing the company of anti-competitive behaviour designed to hurt her new label, Sky News learns.Tamara Mellon, the businesswoman who built Jimmy Choo into a global brand, is launching a legal battle against her former company amid allegations of anti-competitive practices that were aimed at thwarting her new fashion label.Sky News has learnt that lawyers acting for Ms Mellon wrote to Jimmy Choo this week accusing it of obliging leading Italian leather suppliers to commit not to work with Tamara Mellon Brand LLC, a luxury fashion house she launched in 2013.The letter from Olswang, a prominent law firm, is understood to allege that Ms Mellon's new company has been "unable to secure suitable production capacity for luxury leather products and (its) business consequently has been impaired" as a result of pressure from Jimmy Choo, according to a person with knowledge of its content.[link]
