Re: Closely held The rise in the chart is clear and hopefully a resolution to this long awaited debacle around the corner.I remember buying and selling CHL years ago.It was interesting seeing the leaked media over the summer about a settlement attempt. Hopefully a prelude. One of the reasons I bought today.I did get what I wanted but had to pay more than the ask I think.
Re: Closely held They are tightly held - moves up/down a bit like GCM on small buys/sellsA lot of people are loaded up and if the right result comes along it will rocket - the herd will see to that - time span - who knows LOL
Re: Closely held If my experience is anything to go by, it is the norm, except on days when the volume is really heavy. Any trades over 20k shares are generally quoted outside the spread so I built up my holding via a number of small purchases.
Closely held I can hardly get a quote for much at all. Is this the norm or is it just we are so close to the decision?
Re: snippet Good find! This seems to me to suggest confidence in the outcome ... do others come to the same conclusion?
Re: snippet Why have they been asked to contribute - especially if they have no hope of winning their case - or do they?
snippet [link] mining company Planet will give evidence extolling the merits of a controversial aspect of the deal - investor-state dispute settlements. The clauses allow foreign investors to access an international tribunal if they believe actions taken by a host country's government breach investment obligations.Planet managing director Nicholas Smith will argue the clauses help give smaller exploration companies the confidence to invest capital in developing countries where the rule of law may not be as strong as Australia."Treaties like the TPP are therefore very important tools for the promotion and protection of foreign investment," he said in a submission to the inquiry.Planet dismissed the arguments of free-trade agreement critics that the clauses exposed Australia to frivolous legal action by foreign investors."We think the risk is being overstated," Mr Smith said. The company briefly detailed its own experience using investor-state dispute settlements proceedings against Indonesia over a coal project in East Kalimantan.Planet and its parent company Churchill Mining spent $US70 million ($A92 million) on exploration activities and discovered a major coal resource. However, the head of the local East Kutai sub-regional government unilaterally revoked mining licences in 2010.
