Re: big drop .....good points jsan22......I also have not held recently.I have held in the past, it did its job during troubled times true.....but i got very disappointed at its lack of growth after those times; it did not respond to the big growth in markets , not at least for a long long time.So interesting question, why did someone unload £250,000 ?.....and why right now ? ....(I have not looked at the composition of the fund lately)SAGE
big drop Hello if anyone is out there.I've had Capital Gearing on my watchlist as a possible "safe-fund" purchase to go alongside Trojan and a couple of other bearish funds.Ironically, today when most of my funds tanked for the first time in ages, after interest rate and terror scares, Capital Gearing took the biggest dive of all - down 4.5% with someone off-loading a quarter million squids worth in one transaction. Not quite what I had in mind, but hey that's just one day's action.Anyway, would welcome any opinions. Has anyone held this fund through the 2000 and 2007 bear markets?today's fall in SP took the trust to a slight discount, so might take the opportunity to dive in. thanksJ
