any thoughts I read somewhere that money could be flowing into high yielding equities due to the stimulus in Europe. Could this explain the rise..... If so any thoughts on how high CGL could go?
Re: other posters Thank you Grey and sport for your comments, it is appreciatedRegards.
Re: Woodford Games - "I notice this has disappeared from his list in November"---------- ---------- ---------- ---------- --Catlin was never on Woodford's list of holdings AFAIK - certainly it isn't listed in September, October or November.
Woodford I notice this has disappeared from his list in November. LRE, Amlin and Hiscox still there -- I wonder why as the stock price here keeps climbing.Games
Re: other posters Apologies for the slow reply, I only looked at the CGL board because I wondered if anyone knew why the share price bumped up yesterday.I don't hold Chesnara. I simply don't understand the process of releasing value from closed life books, although I suspect that it must be akin to fleecing customers ie they get less, shareholders get more. I don't buy shares in things that I don't understand.CGL continues to be a satisfactory investment, although falling rates are a real concern. My most recent addition is more shares in LRE. I am expecting a short term market correction, followed by a much bigger one next autumn, so I continue to be defensive. I expect dollar strength to continue, and sterling weakness to break out any time soon. This will help CGL.
Re: IMS today km1CGL isn't listed in dollars. So you can rest assured on that aspect at least. It is LSE listed, and the dividend is stated in pence. As it's registered in Bermuda, there isn't any stamp duty payable on purchasing.I wondering what to do with FLG if the Aviva takeover proceeds, but I think I'll diversify a bit as I have enough in insurance.
Re: IMS today Hi Grey, I always read and value your posts on several boards (HSTN, BEZ, ET AL), I have FLG and am looking for an alternative replacement, another high divI payer.I have looked at CGL but must confess to being nervous due to the stock being listed in dollars, I have also looked at Chesnara and wondered if you have any thoughts regarding this stock.Regards.
