Re: Alloa Agreed .... Bhoys made a bit of a meal out of that one, but credit to Alloa for their efforts.Could be a similar scenario v Kilmarnock on Saturday ... might be another game where Celtic don't fire on all cylinders against a resolute defence. Early new season always seems to be a frantic time for Celtic - 3 games a week from early-August onwards. Many of them revenue-collecting friendlies and / or meaningless 'tournaments', usually against elite European clubs. They all pour cash into the kitty, and probably good financial business But I sometimes wonder if the players get so knackkered so early on that they slow down in the so-called 'easy' League games in August / September/ October ? With up-coming Euro CL games looming, no player will want to risk getting crocked before a Barca / Man City / Borussia game when the whole of Europe will be watching him play ...Never mind Bhoys, stout hearts and strong minds, and a point or 3 against Man City would add another nice wee chapter to " The History " .... .. meanwhile, no falling asleep v Kilmarnock ..........no pressure, Bhoys, eh ? ... hahaLolGJ
Alloa I hope BR learned from last nights game. Roles will be reversed next Wednesday against Manchester city. Alloa played well last night and were comfortable against much better players.
Re: Jimmie No Probs Jimmie. In terms of value for money the sevco games provide best value. Probably works out at about £2 a goal. lol.
Re: Jimmie popesMany thanks for that, and kind of you to keep me in mind ... attractive as the 3 ECL home games are, I still only have the one burning ambition ..a Home game v. the Oldco / Sevco / Newco or whoever they are these days...haha.Nevertheless popes ... it's very much appreciated that you are keeping me informed ....Thank youHail - HailGJ
Jimmie If you know somebody with a season ticket they can buy you a 3 match package for champions League. £129. Thought you may enjoy watching Barca rather Sevco. Be quick as they will go.[link]
Re: Don't worry Bhoys - all you have los... Worst defeat in 70 years...the absolute pumping
Re: Don't worry Bhoys - all you have los... Haha terribletim ... that's one of the saddest posts of the season so far ... from a saddo fan of one of the saddest and most miserable & pathetic clubs in Europe ....LolGJ
Re: Don't worry Bhoys - all you have lost is... Lol......best game if the season so far.....
Don't worry Bhoys - all you have lost is ... ... 3 points .... to one of the best-ever club sides in the history of the game. Probably the best-ever. Not a humiliation, when you compare the value and the wage-bills of the players out there PS .... I am going to give Brendan Rodgers my phone number ... if Celtic ever get another penalty in this, or any other competition, I want him to call me urgently for some advice to give the penalty-taker.... the conversation might go something like this:..Me ....... there are proper penalty-takers Brendan ... and there are Woos jelly-knee penalty-takersBrendan R ......what do you mean, Jim ? ...Me ...clock on to Interactive Investor ie ( ii .. discussion board .. Celtic (LSE: CCP) .. check out the GimmieJimmie post at 20.56 on 13th Sept 2016. .... all you, or your players ever wanted or need to know about taking a penalty kick is there in simple, easy-to-follow steps.oops ... its 0-7Brendan R ... oh, thank you so much, Jim ... I never knew it was that simple .. I will tell that to my next penalty-taker. Thank you so much, Jim. I will never ever let another Woos-jelly-knee penalty taker take another penalty for CelticMe ... you are very welcome, Brendan. ...LolGJ ... oops ... its 0-7
I knew it all the time ... Joy as it was .... Walloping the pathetic and piss-poor Newco Ragers 5-1 was no measure of where we stand in Europe. Looks like we are in for a right old drubbing tonight .. its gone from 0-3 to 0-5 in about half a minute ... and still half an hour to go ... Never mind Bhoys ... think of the money pouring into the club ... and that woos penalty miss when it was 0-1 ...Hail - Hail
Barca 1 v Celtic 0 ... penalty to Celtic ! Nothing in the game of football infuriates and rages me more than the sight of a penalty-taker starting his "run-up" from 2 or 3 paces from the ball.Well, there probably is one other thing ... that is when the same said penalty-taker stutters and stops in the execution of his free penalty shot, or tries some smart-arrzze trick of "dinking" it over the 'keeper .... in a nutshell, there are 3 examples of total and absolute brainless iddioccy for penalty-takers ... all 3 hand the advantage to the 'keeper every time .. Some times the 'keeper doesn't even need to bother because the kicker has disorientated himself so much, he misses the target anyway. There's only one proper way to approach a penalty kick -- listen and learn folks ... (1) start your run on or outside the box. (2) Run up to the ball at great speed ... and (3) hit that ferrkkin' thing as ferrkkin' hard as you can hit in in the general direction you choose - either to the 'keepers left or right, but between the posts. ( Even if you hit it too near the 'keeper, he will already be bemused by your long and ferocious run-up .. and probably won't even see it if it flies just past his left or right ear )At least you will have had a decent, honest attempt at scoring from the penalty spot... and avoided making yourself look like the total bolllloxx / pricckk- eeejit you have just demonstrated that you are ....assuming you have gone the pansy-footstep-stop-start route...No fees are requested for this free advice ... it is free to the general footballing public, and to both amateur & professional footballers alikeLolGJ.
Re: Walk in the park ... Happy Days Hi popes ... thanks for yr responseAt this late hour of such a euphoric day, and having guzzled a good few glasses too many of my favourite wine in celebration ... I'm intrigued by your comment re a ticket for an Old / Newco Firm game .. Via buying a season-ticket seems the only way I can hope to get up there for a New/Old Firm game. I don't really need or want a season ticket book. I live near Whitby on North East Yorkshire coast of England and not quite up to a fortnightly drive up to Glasgow every month ...Never mind - one day - one day ... I'll get up there for an Old Firm / New Firm / Sevco gamePS ... don't be too harsh about RD, popes ... not quite up to the huge weight of managing Celtic, but the guy tried his best and tided us over for a couple of odd peculiar seasons without Sevco ... his biggest flaw was the arrogant and inane "Ronny-Roar" at the end of games ... Jeez, how I hated that puerile and silly adolescent-type nonsense ....GJ
Re: Walk in the park ... Happy Days Hi JimmieStadium pretty much sold out season ticket wise however you could have got one easy enough. It was just a case of buying it on the Celtic website. I don't think they were pushing sales to people on waiting list as they were too busy covering demand. Next season if you fancy it just buy online from Celtic.Maybe there might be a few champions league tickets on the three match package. Deadline for season ticket holders was today. So perhaps a few never bought them. £130 is a lot for most people so I would say a few will not be in a position to go.The turnaround just goes to highlight how poor RD was. The squad is more or less the same apart from we have a manager who knows what he is doing. I heard the sevco manager say there was not a gulf in class between the two teams. I think there is.
Re: Walk in the park ... Happy Days Yes popes ... today was a joy to watch. Were you there ? Still my ambition to get to a Celtic-'gers game in my twilight years. Either v Oldco or Newco - I'm not fussy, haha. I tried your suggestion a few months back and registered for a new season ticket, but along came Rodgers etc, and a new breath of life into Paradise and didn't even get an acknowledgement. Demand was obviously overwhelming for this season.Never mind - I have a string of Celtic-minded Scots friends, acquaintanences, and their friends etc on the lookout. Maybe you could bear me in mind if you come across any chance of a ticket, and I will add you to the list ... lol7-0 later in the season ? Lets not get greedy popes, but all things are certainly looking Bright and Beautiful on the Celtic front. Lets enjoy it for what it is ... great start to the season, but this game is so fickle. Up in the stratosphere one month - nowhere the next ...Hail, Hail
